Advantages: can sit both kids on one pram
Disadvantages: price, both kids can't sleep at the same time, its heavy to push and wheels don't swivel
I have very recently joined the group of emmaljunga pram users. I have two children a 7 month old and a nearly 3 year old. When I was pregnant with my second child, I did a lot of research in to double pushchairs, buggy boards, toddler seats, but I was very confused. I couldn’t decide what would be best for our particular lifestyle. We didn’t have a car and used public transport very much. We used the bus a lot and we were concerned about whether the bus drivers would allow double pushchairs on, particularly in a busy city like London. Our first six months went by with me staying home most of the time, or them my husband and me would go out together both with a pushchair each. Then just recently I decided that I needed a double pushchair, I happened to be looking in the loot and saw a very good deal for an emmaljunga with a toddler seat, I went for it straight away. At the beginning I thought it was perfect. Living in a small city now I found that I could get it on to the bus, I didn’t have to worry about going out on my own because both kids would be in the pushchair. But slowly I realised that it wasn’t such a good idea after all, maybe a buggy board was a better option. When both kids are in the pushchair, it is very hard to push. I don’t know if this is because it might be an older model but turning is very difficult, you have to lift the pushchair to turn it. Both my husband and me find it hard to push and have to take it in turns. I haven’t tried any other double pushchairs so I don’t know if they are as heavy, a few people have recommended the lightweight graco side by side. But the other disadvantage is that my oldest can’t sleep in the toddler seat and she tends to have a nap in the afternoons, so that is a nuisance. I can manage if the younger one is awake because I put her in the toddler seat but they usually sleep at the same time. Overall, I am not that happy with it and I’m still looking for a
better option.
