~ Graco Century Travel System ~ When I was having my third baby, I decided against getting a pram until the baby was born so I could get one in a chosen colour rather than a unisex one. I liked this Graco Century Travel System if I was to have another boy and I wanted a Minnie Mouse travel system should I have had a girl. As it so happens I had another boy so this is the travel system I went and bought. It was available in three colour ways these were - * Baby pink and bright pink. * Red, grey and navy. * Turquoise and brown. I wanted the turquoise and brown version and not realising I actually ended up with the red, grey and navy version which I really didn't like. So, I took it back to Argos who happily exchanged it for the one I wanted. It came packaged in a rather large box with the buggy part being underneath the car seat. It was all wrapped in polythene bags and was pretty well packaged as I remember. Setting it up was easy enough, everything was well put together and only the hood, foot muff and raincover were seperate from the pram and the hood for the car seat needed attaching. The hood for the car seat popped on with four silver popper fasteners and stayed in place brilliantly, the hood didn't fold in any way though and was quite a sturdy fixture. With the buggy, the hood clips onto the frame with a clamp type clip on either side, theres also 2 poppers on the back that attach to the back of the seat. So, the car seat attaches to the buggy very easily. There two clips that turn on the buggy, the can be placed in a downwards position when they are not in use and to use wiith the car seat you simply need to twist them upwards. When they are in this position they lock into place to make a secure place in which the car seat will sit, the car seat has two slots that fit over the clips and when pushed into place two buttons on the clips will pop into place on the car seat keeping it secure. To remove you simply push the buttons inwards and this will release the seat. It is very easy and very simple to use. The car seat was quite light weight compared to the Mothercare one I had used to bring my son home from hospital but it was roughly the same size, if a little less chunky. It came with a little head hugger and padded cushions that went over the straps. I liked using the car seat, it fitted in our car very nicely and saved waking my little one up every time we needed to put him in his pram. Having the travel system allowed us to move him still in his car seat onto the pram with little fuss at all. After a few months we started to use the buggy part alone and this is where we found a few problems. There was a fault with the buggy, which stopped it from sitting up properly. We hadn't noticed before as we had always used it as a travel system but I phoned Argos customer services and they simply said to take it into store where it would be replaced straight away, so of course that is what we did. Argos were brilliant and we left the store with a brand new travel system even though the car seat had no faults at all. Everything on the pram is removable, although you will need to unscrew a few screws with a phillips screwdriver. I have popped the seat covers in the wash a few times and also the car seat cover, which simply popped off. I was them on a 30 degree and find that they come up like brand new. There's no marks on the material at all after a wash. As my son was playing rugby at the time, I bought a lighter buggy to take my little one so this pram had very little use after that however, I have been using it for my nearly 10 month old son for a while now. I like to alternate between his prams, and he does have a few but this one is great for holidays and day's out as it's pretty light weight. I no longer have the car seat as I left it in the attic when we moved previously .... Gutted! But the pram is still like new. I still have the foot muff, which clips around the frame with straps and poppers, the raincovers which go around the hood and clip on and also the changing bag which came with it. The bag isn't anything special. It has one main compartment and nothing else but it does match the pram and looks quite good on the back! The handles are not adjustable in any way but it is quite high, the handles are foam covered and it's quite comfortable to push. I am 5ft 1in and my hubby is 6ft and we can both push this pram with ease. The colours on this particular one are the same as the dooyoo photograph and the colours compliment each other brilliantly. It's a very nice sylish pram and it seems quite comfortable for baby too, as the seat is nicely padded. I bought this 5yrs ago and paid £99.99 for it from Argos. I have seen this on ebay recently and they go for around the £40 mark which I think is more than a fair price to pay for this travel system. The wheels are very good and don't seems to show hardly any signs of wear unlike my more expensive Silver Cross where the wheels look somewhat shabby already!
