Leebruss Zoom Tandem
Advantages: roomy, easy to manouvre, very well made
Disadvantages: pricey, quite long, will be heavy with two toddlers
Finding out that I was having twins was wonderful. Shopping for a pushchair for them was just awful! My husband and I decided on certain criteria which it would need to meet to fit in with our lifestyle. The main one was that we needed a tandem (front and back) rather than a double (side by side). This immediately cut our choices down greatly.
Many tandems on the market met some of our criteria, but never all of them, until we discovered the zoom. My first sighting of it was in town, being used by a mum of twins. It looked stunning, so I googled it when I got home and fell in love! My ever thorough husband however, insisted on seeing and trying out every tandem on the market before we decided! We finally saw the zoom at a baby show, and he too fell in love with it.
The Zoom is made my Leebruss, who made the Take-off shown on 'The Apprentice'. The German design and engineering is second to none- every part is replaceable and it is bolted together instead of riveted. The removable/folding parts feel very strong and it is incredibly easy to manouver. Despite it's length, my mum says it is easier to push around crowded shops than her grandson's single buggy.
We bought everything we could possibly need to go with our Zoom. It has two full size carrycots, which can be used over night and fit onto normal moses basket stands. Both carrycots fit onto the chassis at once, facing the parent.
Once the babies grow out of the carrycots, there are two seats. These can face each other, both face forward, or both face the parent. Unlike other tandems on the market, the seats are roomy and there's lots of leg room between them when facing each other.
There are also two car seats. These are very sturdy and easy to fit. Again, they can face the front, each other or the parent.
We also got the changing bag, parasols and raincover. The changing bag is great. The parasols and raincover do their job, but they are a bit of a pain to fit and don't look great.
The chassis folds up relatively small and I find it easy to lift into the car. You do end up with no room for anything else in the car if you also take both carrycots as I do, but you soon get used to packing everything in!
There is so much more to say about this pushchair that some of it escapes me! When we were researching it, we could find out very little about it, so I will add more to this review as it comes to me, and please ask if you want to know anything- one of our big things was the size of the carrycots and it took me ages to find an answer, so I'm more than happy to do some measuring!
Summary: A fantastic investment for twin parents
