Stroll on Baby
Member Name: Sarahjh
Advantages: A lightweight easy to manoevre buggy
Disadvantages: One that can`t be loaded with shopping.
In 1965 Owen Maclaren designed and patented his iconic blue and white striped baby buggy. The lightweight 3D folding design is still an important prototype for the industry.
My daughter has been using a beautiful and luxuriously comfortable Mamas and Papas pushchair for her son, the pushchair has been in constant use since he was born.
Like most Mums she leads a hectic lifestyle, her six year old daughter goes to school, so she spends a lot of time pushing her son to and fro.
Her Mamas and Papas pushchair is lovely but heavy to push and we have been looking on the Internet to see if we could find a lightweight pushchair.
The Maclaren website tells you that all of their buggies are lead -free and phthalate-free (pthalates are suspected carcinogens and allergens).
Maclaren also offer a buggie recycling facility, you can either send or take unwanted buggies to their Recycling depot at Long Buckley, Northampton.
The Maclaren Triumph Stroller stood out, a very lightweight buggy (11lbs basic weight) but obviously weighing a little more if the hood, rain cover and shopping basket were attached.
For babies of 3 months old and upwards to a maximum of 15kg, it adjusts to many positions with an adjusting strap and the waterproof hood is rounded so that the buggy folds well.
The seat can be removed to wash, which is great because my Grandson is at that messy eating stage!
The five point harness offers extra security, an aluminium frame offers high performance, the handles are foam covered for comfort and there is an easy to use central foot brake.
The front swivel wheels are lockable and the whole buggy will fold with one hand in around five seconds!
My daughter ordered her Triumph Stroller directly from The Amazon website, the pushchair came with the harness set and a rain cover, at a cost of £80.
She chose the dark blue buggy but the range also has Raspberry pink, Royal blue, Red, Grey and Brown.
The Stroller manoevres well, folds and locks quickly, is easy to put into the back of the car and reclines if her son needs a nap.
Just one thing needs pointing out, the Stroller is so light so you can`t stack it with loads of shopping or you risk tipping it over.
But for getting from A to B easily the buggy comes out tops.
Summary: Easy to use in the car, lightweight and very easily manoevred
