Maclaren Twin Techno
Advantages: independant from birth
Disadvantages: useless if one wants to walk
With a mere two years between my children it was deemed necessary to buy a double pushchair, I wanted a urban detour one however on a trip to boots they had the Twin techno on clearance at £84.00 and as this was fairly similar to the price second hand ones were fetching it was too good a purchase to miss.
Cost and stockist
I paid as mentioned £84.00 for this stroller however the full price of this is £280.00 you can get the stroller from most major baby retailers the price and offers vary so shop around as Boots for example currently offer triple points.
I purchased this stroller as it was easy to put up whilst balancing a child, it could fit through shop doorways, and you could independently work each seat so baby could be lying flat, whilst the two year old sat up it was also not as bulky as many other models and I could get into the boot of my little fiesta and still get shopping in as well.
The Stroller came with cosy toes, head hugger, rain cover, as well as cup holders!
I was impressed with the fact it included a head hugger which did make my baby more comfortable.
I found that although I could easily manage to put this pushchair up one handed and it was fairly light having had a caesarean birth I could not lift the pushchair out of the car as it was too heavy, I also only used this for the first 6 months frequently and then rarely after that as eldest preferred to walk as she wasn't a baby!
I think that this is a good buggy and the price I paid for it was excellent, it is easy to push, and you can lock the wheels the 5 point harness was impossible for my little escape artist to wriggle out of! The ability to manoeuvre the seats independently was great and the seats had four different adjustments which was also a good feature. I was also impressed by the good storage.
My only word of warning would be if like me this is for two different age children and the eldest is walking it may not be a great financial purchase as pretty soon after buying my eldest refused to go in unless she was tired and so we bought a buggy board instead. I do think for twins that this would be a great double pushchair especially if you are urban based.
