Mama and Papas Zoom Pram and Stroller
Advantages: Ease of use, good price
Disadvantages: Is a bit heavy and does not fit very well in small cars
This review is of the mama and papas 'zoom' pram. I bought this pram as a package from the mama and papas shop for £436, in which I got the chassis, the carry cot, stroller and also a car seat, which I thought was quite a good deal for the price.
This pram comes in a range of colours, however I just chose black, as it was in black in the shop and it looked really nice, the other colours in the catalogue we were shown, I thought made the pram look a lot cheaper. The chassis is silver, with black wheels, black basket, and black handle.
This pram is so easy to set up. The chassis has a lever on the side by one of the wheels which you just lift up and pull the handles up to lift the chassis up. It folds in half really easy, by just lifting up two levers on the side and pushing it down. It is really easy to work out how to get this pram up and down without even reading the instructions, which is what I really like about it, even I can work it!
However this pram is not the lightest or smallest of prams, I do have a small boot and it does fit in stood up, not laid flat, but I cannot fit anything else in, such as the carry cot, there is not way it will fit in, and my boyfriend does have a massive boot and even in his, it takes up most of the room. So I would recommend you check it all fits in your boot before you buy, unless you can put the carry cot or stroller on the back seat, luckily I can as I don't usually have anyone in the back of my car, but if you have more kids then there's no way of fitting it in a small car!
The carry cot makes this pram look so cute, I loved the look of this pram with the carry cot on it, which is why I bought it, however my sons is now 17 weeks and outgrew the carry cot weeks ago! So it wasn't really worth buying the carry cot, which I think is around £120 separately, but ours just came in the package deal, I am glad I had it for the first few months as my son was premature and he would have been way too small for the stroller, but it only had a few months of use, and is now in the loft! It has a plastic lining inside which you can remove, and also you can remove this off the mattress which was brilliant as my son was always sick all the time, and it always went through the cot sheet onto the mattress, so its great it came off to wash so easily. The mattress feels really firm, and I left my son to sleep in here all the time during the day when he was first born, he slept really well in it. The carry cot hood is easy to have up or down, just two buttons on the side you press to move it. It also has a small bar at the top which I used to attach toys to dangle down to make it a bit more colourful, it looked a little plain all in black!
We have only just got the stroller part of this pram out of the loft to use, as now my son has outgrown the carry cot, he looks a little small for the stroller, but too big for the carry cot! I am sure he will grown into it soon though, this stroller lays flats by pulling a lever at the top underneath, which is quite hard to get the hang of at first, but I'm used to it now. It lies flat for newborns, so can be used from birth and you can sit it up once they are a bit older and want to see what's going on! It slots onto the pram chassis really easily and can be turned towards you or facing away from you.
The straps seem very secure at keeping my baby in place, but you need a foot muff for this stroller to keep baby warm, you cant tuck blankets in around baby very well the blankets just fall off all the time.
The basket on the bottom of this pram is massive, I can fit so much in it, I would definitely recommend this pram just for the huge basket! It is so handy, it takes a good weight too, I regularly put all my shopping in there.
The handle bars on this pram are a foam material which feels nice and comfortable to hold, and the handles move to different positions if you are tall or small pushing it, and also they fold right down so if your in a restaurant you can move the pram right up to your table so you can see your baby, with the handle bars right out the way.
I find this pram quite heavy to use, when I first had my son due to my c-section, I found it hard to lift the chassis and the carry cot as they are heavy separately, and when put together even feels slightly heavy to push, although it feels very sturdy and well made.
This pram is a three wheeler, and steers so easily around, I have never had a problem with it. The car seat also clips onto this chassis no problem, but you have to buy special adaptors which are £25, and are so handy, when just taking baby to nip in to Tesco etc, instead of waking your baby to put in the carry cot or stroller, you just simply, pick the car seat up out the car and slot onto the pram, making it so much quicker.
I would highly recommend this pram for the price, £436 for chassis, stroller, carry cot and car seat you cant go wrong! Its excellent quality my baby looks comfortable and safe in it, and I am overall pleased with it!
Thank you for reading my review x
