Advantages: A great little buggy
Disadvantages: Not really great for newborns
We bought this buggy to keep in the car. We also have a mamas and papas sola which we love so going for another mamas and papas pram seemed like a logical conclusion. We picked the pipi up form argos for a very reasonable £59. For this price we got the buggy, hood and raincover, we purchased a footmuff and parasol separately.
The pipi is a lightweight buggy suitable from birth to 15kg. It weighs just 6.6kg and has a carry strap so is very portable and easy to carry. The buggy lies completely flat for newborns, this is achieved by pulling a cord at the back of the buggy. It is very easy to change positions and I have no problems changing from upright to reclining with my daughter in the buggy. The buggy has a traditional 3 point harness which I personally prefer too the floating harnessing as I feel they are safer.
My daughter looks comfortable in this buggy and she will happily go in there, the seat is big enough so it will last her through to when she is walking. The shopping basket is not very big but not unreasonably small. It is big enough to fit a changing bag or a small amount of shopping in. I keep this in the car so this isn't a problem for me as we generally put the shopping straight from the trolley to the boot but if a big basket is a consideration for you then this may not be suitable.
The pipi has two black handles and is nice to push. It feels sturdy and is easy to manoeuvre. I have never had any issues turning or using it in tight spaces. The front wheels are a swivel style but can be locked if you prefer. The buggy collapses easily there is a lever to push up then a bit you stamp on and the buggy collapses in on its self. It's hard to explain but very easy to do. Once folded the buggy is very compact, we have loads of space left in out boot.
All in all while I would highly recommend this for older babies, I don't think it would be great to use from birth. You would not be able to see the baby and I find that a bit worrying. I personally prefer a proper pram for young babies. 4 out of 5 stars from me!
