Advantages: lightweight, easy to fold, good as a pram and pushchair!
Disadvantages: My daughter was too big for this at 8 months
I cannot explain how much i love my Pliko Pramette! I purchased it just in December 2009 as i my store had some discontinued colours in the sale. At the same time i also purchased the car seat and surefix base to go with it but i will review these seperately.
My first baby was due in April 2010 and like any new parent to be i spent hours reading page after page of information about different prams, buggies, travel systems etc etc. By the end of it i thought my head was going to explode with so much information. I spoke to a few friends who had older versions of this pramette and although their opinions on it differed they all agreed for the first 6 months or so this was the best they had used.
Of course i didnt just take my friends word for it i took my time and went to various stores and tested out various pushchairs and prams. The things that were important to me were that it was lightweight, easy to fold and that it would fit in the boot of my fiesta - which wasnt huge. The pliko ticked all of these boxes.
Its so simple to fold up - once you have the knack of it, it really can be done one handed. More importantly it can be done really quickly! Which is a must if your packing it away when its pouring with rain! Its very light - around 10kg i believe and fits into the boot of my Fiesta with room to spare!
Some of the colour combinations are not to my taste but i have one in light and dark grey which i love! There are lots of accessories that can match it - parasol, carseat, foot muff and changing bag etc.
The best thing about this pramette for me was the fact that it started off as a pram when my baby was small. Had a big hood over it and cosy toes so my baby was nice and snug. It was easy to push and had a good storage basket at the bottom.
Now that my daughter is older i have it converted into pushchair mode. Its easy to switch between the two (takes about 2 minutes to zip/unzip to change it over). In pushchair mode is equally easy to push, my daughter seems really comfy in it as its well padded. It reclines really well so she happily has a nap in it around town.
The only slight negative i have is that my daughter is now nearly 10kg and is too big for it. As the pushchair is so padded shes a bit squashed.
I have used it extensively over the last 8 and a bit months and it is still in excellent condition. Its now packed away securely ready for if/when another baby comes along. I would most definately recommend this pramette to anyone and everyone!
Summary: My best baby buy!
