~*~*~ Mamas and Papas Lime Swirl Pushchair ~*~*~
I have a slight pram/pushchair obsession, when I say slight I mean I have it quite bad! I have a few prams/pushchairs that I like to alternate between and those are a Kidzmotion pram, a Cosatto pushchair and up until recently a Koochie pushchair. Unfortunately the Koochie pushchair developed a fault with the back wheels where they were pretty much rubbing together and of course, this was no good as it would eventually have broken so I returned it to Argos where they offered me either a gift card refund or to choose another pram, the Koochie is no longer available and I did buy it when on offer so I was getting my £49.99 back, I decided to choose a different pushchair and this is the one I chose.
~ What is it? ~
This is a neat, lightweight and funky pushchair from Mamas and Papas. It is suitable from birth to children up to 15kg.
~ Added extras or more money to spend?! ~
My main reason for choosing this pushchair was the fact that it was on offer, I have to be honest and say that I didn't really pay much attention as to what it came with so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with the following -
I have since noticed that Argos list the hood and basket as accessories but I just think they should automatically come with it so I don't feel the need to add those as added extras!
There is no footmuff with this pushchair but as my son is older now, he doesn't really fit in them anymore so this wasn't a problem for me.
The seat unit seems to have much more room than the returned Koochie and he looks a lot more comfortable in this.
The parasol alone would cost £19.99 in Argos, so I feel that having this included makes it a really good deal.
The raincover is a basis pop on sheet, which simply fastens onto either side of the hood with poppers. The raincover has a black material strip which sits on the top and fits over the front of the hood neatly.
~ Pretty or practical ~
This is both pretty or atleast aesthetically appealing and very practical. The basket underneath is pretty large and quite sturdy for a net basket. The frame is simply coloured in black, and this is set off by the lime green colouring in the pram. The hood is lime green, the seat unit is coloured in lime green, white and dark grey and has a stripy pattern.
The hood comes separate from the pram so you have to attach this yourself and it is very simply a case of clipping it onto the frame, the front wheels also need popping on and again this is easy enough to do.
The parasol that comes with the pushchair is also coloured in the nice lime green.
The pushchair is lovely to push and is really comfortable to hold with it's foam grip handles, my son also seems quite comfy whilst sitting in it, and he can either have his feet up or down, this just requires me to push two buttons to lift or lower the leg rest. If he falls asleep I will put the leg rest up so that he can lie down comfortably, it also reclines by simply pulling on a toggle cord at the back.
~ Specifications ~
Suitable from birth.
Suitable for children up to 15kg.
1 hand foot operated umbrella fold.
Folded size L109, W30, D26cm.
~ Easy or hard to fold? ~
This is really easy to fold, you simply have to push down on a side lever and then lift the back which will allow it to collapse, to put it back up you have to push down on the back part to lock it back into place. It's really nice and easy use.
~ General Information ~
The pushchair has multi recline positions which is easily accessed via a pull cord on the back of the seat unit, it has a 5 point harness which is adjustable, the front wheels can be locked or swivel, has adjustable leg rest and a handle height of 109cm.
I am 5ft (and half an inch) tall/short and my hubby is 5ft11" and we can both push this with comfort and ease.
~ Price & Availability ~
I think this may be an Argos exclusive as a Google search brought up nothing else! So it is available from Argos stores or online at www.argos.co.uk and is currently priced at £50.00 which is £5 less than I bought it for a month or so ago!
It's non-sale price is £109.99.
For the lower prices I think this is a superb pushchair, it wipes down easily and it looks quite comfortable and roomy. The colours are lovely, bright and vivid and I am really impressed with it, however I don't think I would have paid full price for it as there is such a large range of pushchairs to choose from.
This is suitable for either boys or girls and it is a nice trendy pushchair.
I would recommend it.
Thanks for reading :o) x
