Maxi-Cosi Quinny Zapp
Advantages: Tiny weeny
Disadvantages: Blows away
This pram was purchased when i had my second child. My eldest was 2yrs 3mths when she was born so he was walking everywhere, meaning a double was not needed. With 2 children space was at a premium and the fact that this pushchair folds up very small and comes with it's own carry bag meant i was sold!
This puschair does not lie flat so is only suitable from 6months. However, i purchased the maxi cosi car seat and adapters and with a quick strip down (which becomes easy after a couple of tries) the material on the puschair comes off (it is like a sliding system in which the material slides into gulleys in the buggy) and the car seat nestles comfortably and safely on the frame. Very compact and easy to push BUT hold on tight as it is so light it tends to blow away in the wind. The brake is very easy to use and secure. The red push down plastic on one wheel engages it and the grey one disengages it.
When folding the pushchair it can be complicated at first but soon becomes easier. You need to push up the piece of metal between the two handles and then press the grey circular buttond on the frame half way down. This folds the buggy in half. You then push hard with your foot (brake must be on) on the black plastic piece near the wheels. This then closes it fully.
This pushchair has no basket for storing shopping, and as it is so light i would not recommend haging it on the handles unless you have a very heavy child to anchor the pushchair!
From around one year i used this as a pushchair (she was in car seat till then) and it was fine for quick trips however if she fell asleep it would be impossible to get her into a comfortable position and she would awake grumpy! The harnesses are secure and comfortable and the lock is complicated enough to prevent your child escaping but easy enough for one handed application!
Overall this is an excellent puschair which is still in use by me today, for the youngest and middle children (when i only have one and a short journey to make!) but it really came into its own as a travel system for the youngest!!!!
Summary: Very good travel system
