Maxi Cosi Rain Cover
Advantages: keeps your little one dry
Disadvantages: quite difficult to fit, rain splashes when you take it off
For the maxi cosi car seat we didn't have a rain cover and considering we used this on wheels as a travel system for our grandchildren we did really need a cover. My daughter told me that their travel system didn't come with a rain cover which surprised me you would think after spending so much on a travel system that it would include everything but no, we had to buy a separate one from ebay, it was £11.
You only put it on when it's raining, you can't keep it half on and pull it over as it doesn't work like that. It only fits one way too so the best way to do it is to look where the little window is and to make sure you have that at the front. You then put it on starting from the back, you hook it over the back of the seat and then just pull it forward under the front of the seat. There is nothing in particular that it grips onto, just the seat in general.
It fits like a glove so it's quite tight and taut. It is see through completely so you can still see your baby and your baby can still see you. There is a window in the front with a flap so you can lift it up and get to your baby but just enough to give them a toy or put their dummy in or something, not enough to actually lift them out.
It does protect from the rain and it is possible to lift the car seat up using the handle whilst this is on but it is a bit difficult to do as you can't get a good grip. When you take it off you have to unhook it from one side and it kind of pings off which is not great as this makes water that has gathered on top splash everywhere which isn't ideal.
I don't think this is great but I find it hard to think of how it could be improved so it's quite difficult to decide what star rating to give it really.
Summary: 3 stars
