Advantages: light, easy to steer, comfy, looks good
Disadvantages: small shopping basket
My first experience with micralite pushchairs was the fastfold. I bought that one originally when I was suffering from SPD and struggling to push our sluggish buggy around with a two year old in it. That pushchair was great and I loved it but it had one flaw for us - the seat didn't recline. This has proved to be a bit of a problem as we like to go for long walks and my six month old didn't look comfortable and wouldn't sleep well in it.
Because I loved the fastfold so much, the micralite toro seemed to be the logical next step. I have been using this for a week now and I haven't been disappointed.
Why I LOVE the Toro
It's very light and easy to steer. I can hold my daughters hand easily while pushing it, I can even stand in one spot and turn it pretty much 360 degrees, in one swift motion if the need to occurred!
It folds out and up again easily with the push of buttons and downward or upward motion.
It folds into quite a compact size.
The seat recline is so smooth and easy to do, the baby happily sleeps while seat is being reclined. It has 3 seat positions which are bolt upright, slightly reclined or fully reclined which is flat.
It is light enough to lift up or downstairs one handed, keeping one valuable hand free for my two year old.
Because of the big air filled tyres at the back my baby gets a smooth ride even over the abundance of cobbles and rough terrain where live.
It looks good! I keep getting compliments on it when out and about.
And some not so good-
The shopping basket is a little small and can't be accessed when the seat is fully upright. As the seat is so quick and easy to recline it's only a minor inconvenience.
The handles aren't the easiest to hang bags on and this is also actively discouraged by the manufacturer due to risk of tipping.
This is my favourite of all the pushchairs we've owned. It's so easy to steer around shops, robust enough to push around the woods and comfy enough for long walks. It's also quite easy to use on public transport although I prefer the sling for that purpose. Wholeheartedly recommend it, it's pretty close to perfect in my eyes.
Summary: I love it, it makes day to day life easier!
