This is a review of the foot muff we recently picked up to refresh and smarten our Silver Cross pushchair.
Description
The liner is spotty on one side with a nice chocolate brown background and a vivid purple on the other side. I would say it could be used for a boy or girl. It is nice and padded and provides adequate warmth for our daughter whilst she is sitting in the push chair. The umbrella clamps on to the side of the pram but I have not really used it much as I find it a bit cumbersome and we have a concertina roof on the pram that I tend to use for sun shade or rain shelter. You can turn the foot muff into a liner by zipping the top off so it is very universal.
Price
The original pack was priced £50 for the foot muff (which includes a seat liner) and a sun parasol. I mainly wanted the new liner and for the sale price of £20 I thought this was reasonable. It also meant I could put one set on the pram whilst I washed the other set.
Easy to fit (universal style)
Our pram is a Silver Cross travel system that we have used since birth with our daughter and with number two on the way I wanted to save money but fancied a new look. I took a bit of a gamble that this foot muff would fit the pram and it fits it nicely. The label stated that it will fit most strollers and it fits both our pram and buggy (both Silver Cross).
In use
The foot muff is very useful and turns our pram into a nice bright and cosy space for our daughter. She seems to like it and like most cosy toes they are proper crumb catchers! Beware when you zip it open that you do it outside if it has been on the pram for a while as there will be all sorts down there! Luckily it can be washed at 40 degrees so you can keep it fresh and clean. We fitted the foot muff in under 10 minutes to our pram and whilst we haven't used the parasol so far it is handy to have particularly if you take a pram out in hot weather.
Final word
I think £50 was a bit steep to pay for this kit but at £20 it was a real bargain. The purple colour is beautiful and looks lovely on the pram. Some prams come without accessories so it is a good idea to buy the foot muff to provide either warmth or protection for the seat when used as a liner. I can't see us getting a lot of use from the umbrella but the liner was worth the money alone. My daughter is into 'counting' things now so when I need some peace or to concentrate when we are out shopping, I ask her to count the dots and she does this for a while!
Summary: A refresh for our pushchair
