Advantages: Single pushchair has large basket, very comfty, lots of accessories,

Disadvantages: Double kit is a no go.

I bought this pushchair when it first came out, I had been waiting for it for so long as was Q-ing up at the doors of ToysRus to get my hands on it. It cost me £400 which included the double kit too. Unfortunately the other accessories such as raincover, cosy toes and wheel pump came separate and so that of course bumped the price up even more. But never the less, i still loved it.

I used it as a single at first for my daughter, the basket is very large and accessible, the handles are adjustable which is useful, the pushchairs lies flat and can be sat up at several different positions. The thing I like most about it is the large hood. the hood can be moved about depending on where the sun is, I found this very useful for allowing baby to sleep longer.

The cacoon for newborns (which i had to buy separet) was so handy, it strapped onto the pushcair when it was in a recline position and it made it easy to move baby from pram to the house without disturbing her. The pushchair is compatible with the Maxi Cosi carseat, but of course the adapter to use the carseat comes separate. When using it with the carseat it was slightly 'rattly' so did dusturb the baby when going up and down curbs etc, For that reason I didnt tend to use it as a travel system.

When my son arrived I attached the double kit. The double kit on the explorer can either go on the top or underneath the main seat. The double seat looks just as comfy as the main seat and also has a hood attached to it. But again.... I had to buy yet another separate accessory, the double raincover.

I wasnt very impressed when I started to use this as a double, Neither of the seats can recline so babies were not able to sleep comftably. The basket couldnt be used while the child was sat underneath so there was nowhere to put the babies bags. It also become very heavy and difficult to push.

The thing that pushed me over the edge when using this as a double was the lack of stability in the wind. I was on Maternity leave, I had my baby in the double seat and my toddler in the main seat, it was raining and very windy so i was using the double rain cover too. Walking down the street, a massive gush of wind came blowing into us and the pushchair went tipping to the side, it was very difficult to keep it under control because of how heavy it was, and the 3 wheels didnt help with keeping it stable. Luckily i managed to stop it from tipping up but it could have been lethal. When this happened I got rid of the pushchair as I could risk that happening again.

Overall I would recommend if using for a single, but stay clear if you need a double pushchair.

Summary: Excellent pushchair for using as a single. Can be dangerous as a double
