Silver Cross 3D
Advantages: Easy to use and steers well
Disadvantages: Shopping Basket is difficult to get to
I bought the Silver Cross 3D in Pistachio a couple of months ago while expecting my second child. Previously I had a Hauck Travel System for my son but this time fancied a pram style so that baby was lying flat while still facing me.
I opted for the Silver Cross as it ticked all the boxes for my requirements. It was a pram and it converted into a pushchair for when baby is a little older.
I scouted around for the best offers and bought a refurbished one off ebay for £110. On arrival it looked brand new with no sign of any wear on it at all so was very pleased with this bargain!
I finally gave birth to my second son just 2 weeks ago and I was really excited about using my new pram for the first time and giving it an all important test drive!
It was very easy to set up as a pram, I followed the instructions it came with and it took me no time at all. Everything fits well and it is all well made. The hood is easy to detach and attach again for when you are converting the Silver Cross between the 2 styles.
Once I had put it together in the Pram style I was a little worried as it seemed quite heavy, sturdy but heavy. However once I started to actually push it I found it very easy to steer and it didn't feel so heavy.
When it is in Pram style the shopping basket underneath is difficult to get to, which I found disappointing as I tend to do alot of shopping on my own so I am limited to what I can actually buy now.
To fold down there is a leaver on each handle bar which you pull up and then you need to pull up a bar situated at the back of the buggy. It is very easy to do and it folds down nicely.
The raincover that came with it fits snuggly around the pram and British weather being what it is I have already had to use it! It was easy to put on, fits well and kept my son lovely and dry. What more could you ask of a rain cover? The only down side is that it either needs to stay on or come completely off there is no inbetween.
On the whole so far I have been happy with the Silver Cross 3D and would recommend it to others.
