Advantages: nice to look at, good customer service at silver cross
Disadvantages: too bulky, too heavy, poor chassis design
I did alot of research into prams when i was pregnant and opted for this one. One of the main reasons I think was that I thought silvercross was a name to trust!
At first when in the pram mode I loved!!! this pram. The white pram liner was so cute, well made, padded and cosy. It was a dream to push, reasonably lightweight, great to look at my new little girl. The pram liner was easy to remove to get in and out of the car or wash, and the car seat could fit onto the base quickly and easily. Once the car seat was attatched it made the pram so heavy and really long - like pushing a train. It was hard to see where you were going!
Once my daughter was 6 months we started using it as a buggy, and i must say it went downhill from here...the black fabric inside the buggy (on the pistachio version) was so drab, the opening and folding mechanism started to stick, the chassis became bent from forcing it shut or open, and as my daughter got bigger, it bacme harder and harder to push.
Silvercross did repair the chassis and give me a new hood, 6 months out of warrenty, however the problem with the chassis opening and closing properly started again, and we have to pay £40 if we want it fixed this time.
Overall - I wish i had not bothered trying to get a travel system to last from birth to 3, i wish i had bought 2 seperate products, a more expensive newborn pram, then a cheaper lightweight buggy for later.
Summary: Definately better prams/ pushchairs on the market.
