Advantages: Well-made and sturdy, has a tray at the bottom and folds flat.

Disadvantages: Heavy and quite cumbersome when folded.

Although I have placed this opinion under Silver cross Coachbuilt, it really would have been better placed under a general heading of Silver cross, as I wanted to give my own personal experience of using Silver Cross. So before I start I must apologise, if I have placed this opinion it in the wrong category.

Albeit, it was some years ago now, I bought the Silver Cross Wayfarer Excel for my son, who I was expecting at the time.

This is a carrycot and a pushchair. It is very sturdy, folds flat and has a tray underneath, with it came the clear PVC hood and you can also purchase a sun canopy and a padded foot muff, which I did.

It was alot of money even back then, (which I suppose was nearly ten years ago now!), about £260.00, but I firmly believe that you get what you pay for, and unfortunately quality has got a price. This isn’t always the case, but it is most of the time.

Come rain or shine, that carrycot and buggy has certainly withstood the test of time, so I was determined to keep hold of it, for the next time, if I was to be so lucky! Which I was, and my second child came in the form of a daughter, over a year ago now. So out came the carrycot and buggy for a second airing. The carrycot I have to say looked like it had never been used, the buggy too was in good condition, apart from the tyres, which looked slightly worn - but the rest of it was immaculate really.

Out of interest, while I was pregnant with my daughter, I did look around to see what was on offer, and to see how much buggy’s etc. had changed, and now thinking about it, I can’t remember seeing any Silver Cross prams or pushchairs! Perhaps if anyone has come across any, they would care to comment, please?

One thing I would say is that, it is quite bulky and heavy when folded. It folds flat and so therefore does take quite abit of room up in the boot of the car, but I still wouldn’t have changed anything, and looking back, i
t might have been expensive at the time, but the amount of years that I have had good use out of it, has been phenomenal!

I have just bought a stroller now, purely for the simple reason, that it is handier and takes up less space in the car - it is more convenient for me, but that doesn’t mean that I disposed of my trusty Silver Cross - oh no! Who knows if I might need it in the future.....?

You can’t beat quality!
