Advantages: Looks good, lasts for more than one baby. A true classic.

Disadvantages: Bulky, need room to store. stairs are off limits.

Well worth finding!!!

I had a good pushchair from my first baby and small Silvercross (the oval semi hardbodied kind).

My first baby was very big and soon outgrew the small Silvercross before he could sit up so I was glad I only paid £20 for it.

Whilst pregnant for the second time I spotted a proper hardbodied Silvercross in a charity shop. White body with navy hood and apron, beautiful. The sign on it said £10 a bargain. When I asked if they could put it by for me she said it was half price £5. Unbelivable for an imaculate pram.

It is 15 years old but looks brand new. My little girl looks such a picture sitting up in it and she still has plenty of room to sleep.

I couldn't resist seeing how much a new one would cost and was shocked to see a similar model for £400. So I saved £395.

It now lives at Granny's as I really don't have the room for it now. Granny loves it and the wee one uses it for her daytime naps as well when visiting.

I would definatly recomend hunting for one if you have the room to store it.

The minus points are that you need a big car or have to use a roof rack as we did for the chasie.
Can't use buses but fits onto trains fine as long as they aren't too busy.
Harder to manouver in small or cramped shops.

The plus points are plenty room to sleep in and a proper matress.
Doesn't need a seperate rain cover
Lots of room for your shopping.
You can fit a seat on top for a toddler as we did.
You get a Moses effect when shopping as the crowd parts and you glide past.
Lots of admiring looks and comments.

Well worth hunting through boot sales, charity shops and the small ads. Even paying £150 would be worth it.
