After reading loads of excellent reviews about this pushchair on other websites, I was so excited when I finally managed to get one. They were discontinued a while ago now, but are still readily available to buy second hand from places like ebay. I had never read a bad review on this pram so really was expecting it to be my dream pushchair.
The Silver Cross Cruiser is a large and comfortable looking pushchair. It's not the most fashionable of pushchairs, but I decided to put comfort and practicality before style and bought one of these. I also bought the matching accessories which consisted of a parasol, a changing bag and a footmuff.
The Cruiser already has a leg cover, which does look smart enough on it's own, but I preferred it with the footmuff. My little boy looked so comfortable and cosy. He's 2 just now, and quite big for his age, but has plenty of room. The seat reclines and can lie flat, so is suitable for a newborn. The raincover is good quality too.
There's a pocket in the back of the hood which is big enough for your purse, phone, keys etc. I find this handy as the handle is a bar type instead of two seperate handles, which means there's nowhere to hang a handbag. There is a reasonable sized storage basket underneath, but it's not really possible to fit much shopping in it, so it's definitely not a buggy for the supermarket.
The buggy comes with adaptors to fit the silver cross ventura carseat into it to create a travel system. I've never used this facility so can't comment on that.
The thing that I think lets this buggy down is that it is massive when folded. I struggle to find a place to keep it in the house, and if you've got a small boot or need to fold it up on the bus then this buggy really isn't for you. I also find it difficult to steer sometimes. You really do need both hands so not ideal if you've got another child with you who's hand you need to hold. My daughter will hold the buggy whilst walking along beside me, but if she didn't then I'd be in trouble as there's no way you could push this one handed.
It also only seems to come in boring black or navy. Mine is black but silver cross do sell all different styles of compatible footmuffs, so if it bothered you that much then you could jazz it up a bit.
