WHAT IS IT?
A pushchair from Silver Cross.
This is called a micro pushchair because it folds up to be smaller than they are usually. The colour of mine is the same as in the photograph that Dooyoo has got up, I bought the pink one because I have got a baby daughter but I saw that there is the same design in pale blue also if you have a boy. It is very smart looking I think.
The harness fits over the shoulders and waist and fixes to a strap that goes between the legs. It is very secure when it is closed and my daughter does not try to open it because she knows already that she can't. I do not like the way that the hood only pulls forward a little bit because it does not shield my daughter properly from the sun, I would want to pull it forward more so that I could cover more of her face in shadow.
WHAT I THINK
I was very happy with my pushchair when I first got it and I used it quite a lot when I went shopping or to take my daughter for a walk. It only lasted for 2 months though because one day I folded it up to put it into my car boot and as it was folding the handle snapped and left a very sharp piece of metal that could have cut me or my daughter.
I reported it to Silver Cross and they told me to take it back to the shop I had bought it from for a refund, I did but think I should have argued with Silver Cross because the pushchairs are still being sold and I think it is very dangerous and I have seen online that it has happened for other people also.
While I was using the pushchair I thought that the handles were the right height and the brake worked very good. The pushchair was nice to push around because the wheels are smooth and made out of solid rubber. I think I would have kept it for a very long time if it had not broken and I was sorry to take it back and pick another one. My daughter was very comfortable when she was sitting in it and the pushchair back could be laid down so that she could sit or lie to depend on if she was awake or asleep. I was happy with this because of it being a small pushchair I thought that it would not be so comfortable for her to use.
I think that it is a pity that this pushchair broke so badly because it is a good and comfortable one. I thought that Silver Cross would never make a pushchair that is so easy broken and I am surprised. I do not recommend it because of others I have read about that have had the same problem on some of the parenting forums I contribute to.
1 Dooyoo Star.
My partner and I were looking for a lightweight buggy when my son was around 6months old, we decided on the silver cross micro, it had an extra bit on the hood that came down to protect from the sun, it was small when folded and had a handle to carry it and was multi-reclining, it was easy to lay my son back. It was also ideal if we were to go abroad. I liked it at first but grew to hate it. The wheels seemed to stick and not all turn when pushing. The raincover is horrible, little Velcro bits you have to fasten each side and going down the frame, hardly covered my son and when he was older he would kick against it, which resulted in the Velcro being unfastened, so was just useless. My son seemed to slouch when in this buggy, I seemed to be always pulling him up, he didn't look comfy in it half the time. The foot muff which the sales person sold us was rubbish, didn't really fit this buggy, I would have to try and hold it in place and then put my son into the buggy at the same time.
I suppose it's ok if you were going for a week away but definitely not to use all the time. I didn't pay alot but wish we hadn't of wasted our money on it.
I would not recommend this pushchair to anyone, having bought Silver Cross items before I felt happy that it would be durable and reliable. After only 2 months of using 3 times a week the arms that open the hood had snapped on either side, preventing me from using this feature. This was bad enough but then the first day it began to rain when I was out with my daughter i opened the raincover to stop her getting wet, and it doesnt even cover her feet!! Bear in mind she is only 10 months and this pushchair is supposed to be able to be used up until the child is 3. The final straw came when the seatblet fastening decided to stop working, whilst my daughter was sat in it! The plastic looks as if it has warped and no longer clicks together properly, preventing my daughter from being held securely in her pushchair. This is all after a period of only 5 months!! I am very disappointed with this product and would not recommend it to anyone.
