Silver Cross Pop
Advantages: Suitable from birth, lightweight, folds down small
Disadvantages: Folding mechanism in awkward place
When I was looking for a light weight stroller for my son I searched the internet and shops for weeks. I came across the Silver Cross range and decided to delve a little deeper. Silver Cross is a well known brand which gives you confidence that what they make will stand the test of time and be worth the money.
I discovered the Silver Cross Pop and as it was also on special offer at the time I decided to buy it. I think it cost me around £79.99 which was good value as far as I'm concerned.
The buggy is very lightweight and easy to push. The wheels are sturdy and hard wearing, and the frame looks built to last.
The handles are a tad on the high side - I'm 5ft 3ins and although I find it quite comfortable to push as it helps me stand quite upright, people who prefer a lower handle would find this a bit of a problem. My husband is 6ft 4ins and finds it really easy to use.
The hood is quite secure unlike some other buggys where the hood is flimsy and looks like it wouldn't stand more than a gentle breeze. The buggy comes with a raincover which is easy to put on and again, fairly sturdy.
The basket underneath is quite spacious for a buggy this size and there is also a handy cup holder on the handles for baby's bottle or a drink for mum.
The folding mechanism for this pushchair is quite fiddly and the handle on the back of the seat for releasing the mechanism is in an awkward place, but once the buggy is folded down it is very small and easy to store.
The buggy is suitable from birth as the seat lies down - not completely but enough for a baby.
I would definitely recommend this buggy as a lightweight, easy to use pushchair that is built to last right through to toddlerhood.
Summary: Definitely worth the money!
