Silver Cross Pop
Advantages: Sturdy, Great Design, & Good Value For Money
Disadvantages: None, apart from the footmuff being too small for my 2 year old!
I had been using a Mamas & Papas pram from when my daughter was born until she was about 8 months old and not being able to drive, my pram had to be sturdy enough for getting on and off buses and trains! One morning I was putting this pram up as usual about to go for a wander rind town and hard a crack....not what I wanted to hear. To my horror, the cross section at the bottom had snapped and now the pram wouldn't be able to be used as it wouldn't be safe.
So, now I needed a new pram! I went down to mother are and had to pick from their section. Thankfully, they had a good range but the Silver Cross Pop stood out to me. Silver Cross is a reputable brand and the build quality of the prams and strollers they produce is definitely above average. I'm have now been using this pram for over 18 months and it still works just as it did when I first got it home and apart from the odd scratch, looks as good as new! I did have to purchase the footmuff for the stroller separately, which I did think was quite expensive at £40, but the pram did come with the raincover, cup holder and under seat shipping basket. The raincover features ventilation holes, which help to prevent the cover from steaming up when the cover is over the child and becoming full of condensation. The cup holder can be placed on either one of the handles and the under seat shopping basket is big enough to carry a small supermarket shop.
The only problems which I have with the footmuff is that now my daughter has reached 2 n half years old, the footmuff is too small to be zipped over her and means she has to have a blanket over her which is a bit annoying when she kicks it off and it gets dragged along the floor getting covered in mud. That's the only criticism I have regarding the Silver Cross Pop!
The pushchair is lightweight and very easy to fold. This makes it easy to get on and off buses and trains and also fits easily into the boots of most small cars. Silver Cross have also added a sun visor onto the rim of the hood. This is particularly useful as it folds away easily into the body of the hood and provides protection from the sun without the need to attach and carry around a parasol which can get in the way when walking round town or folding the pram up.
Overall, the pram is definitely good value for money and does just as good a job as a pushchair double the cost would do. If it wasn't for having the need to buy a double pushchair to accommodate a toddler and a newborn, I would continue using this pushchair for my toddler and for my newborn as well until she no longer needs to use a pushchair.
Summary: This is an excellent pushchair, great value & good quality. Thanks Silver Cross!!!!
