Advantages: A novelty idea
Disadvantages: Does not stop a young child running off
WHAT IS IT?
A handle that attaches to your stroller for older siblings to hold onto while you're pushing the baby.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
It's a simple strap system and adjusts to fit any width of stroller frame, you do it up using a plastic clip and the strap and thin strip of rubber stops it sliding around too much. The handle hangs loose at the side of the stroller for your child to hold onto. It's easy to remove when you fold your stroller but the flat strap doesn't hinder folding at all so I kept it attached.
IS IT ANY GOOD?
My daughter could hold it comfortably from the age of nearly three years until just over four years when her sister stopped using her stroller. The handle has a good shape for children to hold and the foam covering the handle makes it softer than if they had used plain plastic.
The problem is that the handle doesn't secure your child to the stroller, at any time a young child could let go and run into the road and that frightens me as its no better to just having your child hold the frame of the stroller. I saw a strap in Mothercare that you put around your child's wrist to keep them in contact with the stroller and you even if they let go of the frame, I think this is a much better idea for security.
The Hold Me Handle costs £6.99 and I think it's a novelty that doesn't do anything, it helps teach children about safety while being independent but the risk of my child letting go means I will not use it when I have my new baby next week.
2 Dooyoo Stars.
Summary: An idea that could be improved with a tethering strap
