Lakeland Pressure Washer Shield
by superness11
If you have ever used a pressure washer you will know that at some points you can look round and think you are actually doing more harm than good! The splash back is ridiculous, I even managed to get it on the upstairs windows (do not ask!) the shed was covered in mud, my shoes, my boyfriend, the bench, the plant pots! Everything! I saw ... the Lakeland Splash guard and I had to have one.
==Price and availability==
The cost of the guard is £9.99. The pressure washers should really come with one but nevermind. I was really glad when I found this.
==Description==
The shield is designed to fit on to any pressure washer lance in order to prevent mud flying everywhere and to make it easier to control the water flow. The guard measures 40cm x 30 cm and it is made from thick plastic. It comes with a plastic brace and bolts for you to attach it to the pressure washer. It will slot over nozzles or thick lances and it can be adjusted by height. I like to have it fitted so that the rubber rim is just touching the floor; this makes sure that the splash back does not escape underneath.
The guard is made from thick plastic but I do find that it feels quite flimsy, especially as there is only one place to fasten it to the lance. When the water is pounding out, I do worry that the guard may give in!
==My experiences==
This gadget saves so much time when I am in the garden blasting away at the algae moss and mud that seems to collect on the patio. It allows me to get really close to the door and windows and not worry about the mud spreading. The downside is that the shield needs a really good wash after use as it gets filthy, you also struggle to see what you are doing with it. You have to sense whether you have completed an area or not as it obscures your view.
The other downside is that the mud comes back the other way and bounces off the guard and over my feet! This is much better than it getting the windows but it is annoying that I end up with wet feet.
I would recommend it as it does work, but it may frustrate you as well as impress you. Read the complete review |

Bosch Aquatak 115 Plus
by sparkymarky1973
One of the main problems of living at my house is that we don't have a drive. Also, because we live on a walk, access to the road is restricted. This is not a real problem per se but it does raise a few issues when I want to wash my car. There is a parking bay opposite my house where I can park but that still means lugging buckets of ... soapy water back and forth which can be a chore!
It was primarily because of this that I first decided to invest in a Pressure Washer. Searching on Amazon, I discovered that out of all the many models available, this version from Bosch got some of the best reviews and, having previously bought a couple of Bosch items recently, was easily persuaded to part with my hard earned cash. Delivery was fast and efficent and soon my troubles with washing my car were destined to be over!
Setting this all up and getting it all ready for use is a perfect doddle! It comes with some excellent attachments and these fit nice and tightly into the unit to ensure compact and tidy storage. There is variable pressure adjustment meaning that you can have either a fast, high powered blast of water or a slower, more gentle stream if you prefer and the unit itself is extremely light for what it is making it easy not only to handle but also to move around!
One thing I was expecting was for this to be noisy! Not so ~ I cannot speak for other models or makes obviously, but this was a lot quiter than I anticipated! It was so good on my car that I have also given it a spin on my mother-in-law's patio! And might I say, it made short work of the mould and lichen that had grown in between the cracks in her crazy paving!
I have never used a pressure washer before but I can honestly and whole-heartedly recommend this one! It is not that cheap at £139 but this appears to be a very competitive price and if you have some heavy-duty outside cleaning to do then this is definitely something you need to consider!
For me, this has proved a god send and this weekend, I am also intending to use it to clean out my guttering!
In short, this is a good quality product that truly is a labour-saving device and has certainly earned its keep already after just over a month! Read the complete review |

Karcher K2.29 Pressure Washer
by jlaker1992
We have always used the karcher brand of pressure washer, because nothing compares to the quality you get from them. We bought ours for £75, it may seem expensive, but the amount of things you can use them for really justifies the cost of buying one. This model comes with attachments which you use for different tasks. You can use this ... pressure washer for your car (which is my main use for it), your patio, clean outside walls and anything sturdy. They blast waterr out to a high pressure which you can really see.
If you still use a hose for your car, you are missing out on this. It cuts down the time you spend cleaning your car and also improves how clean your car actually is. It gets rid of the black marks really well and will get rid of all blemishes that are usually hard to scrub off and then wash off with a conventional hose/bucket of water :) my ford fiesta looks so clean and shiny after using this.
The pressure washer looks great. It's yellow like most other karchers are, it looks stylish. Other pressure washers look very tacky! That's why we have always used karchers, they look great and they work well. Unfortunately I managed to damage ours by knocking it over, I broke off a bit of the side! It still works, but Im not happy that I did it! Be careful with them because they can be fragile.
This is one of the cheaper models, other karchers have many more features, this one is just the basic one but it does the job! It's perfect for domestic use, especially because it can be used for cleaning a lot of parts of your land. Cleaning patios is great with this, it will make even the dirtiest areas look cleaner after a few minutes! It doesn't take long to do either.
The downsides of using these is that they use a lot of water, which can be costly. But you would use lots f water with a tap too so there isn't too much difference. The bad thing at the moment is that we won't be able to use these for a while due to the hosepipe ban which is about to come into force! Rather frustrating because we won't be able to have sparklingly clean cars for a while.
Overall I am very happy with this particular model, it's good value and will make you very happy to see how clean you can make your garden and car :)
