Karcher 399 M plus:
... 7 years my Bosch pressure washer gave up the ghost, (I left it on overnight without water, which didn t help!) I thought I would buy a "Karcher", surely best of breed... I bought a K3.99 from B&Q (£140) after using it for 20-30 minutes it started to leak internally. The connection between the hose and the pump was leaking. 2002 Performance Power Pressure Washer ... this power washer is going for £29.99 at B&Q. It is quite good and does what power washers do. handy for washing down patios - getting the green slime of the concrete. cleaning the car - getting the muck from under the wheels. handy for getting paint off old fences and brickwork. BUT...the extras cost a few quid. The car washing lance costs about £20. This I suppose is because they want to make more money. There is also an option of adding detergent to the power washers water jet. This consists of a silly piece of plastic tubing which you have to attach to the washer and then insert in soap or whatever cleaning liquid. This is a very stupid set ... Karcher High Pressure Washer ... the car has to rate as one of the most tedious jobs around the house. Ironing pips it at the post, but finishing a strong second is washing the car. In a conversation about cars one day at work, a colleague started telling me how much easier it is to clean a car with a Karcher, 20 minutes and it's done. A quick check on DooYoo confirmed his rantings, so it was with great enthusiasim that I bought a Karcher pressure washer in a recent B&Q sale. Karcher High Pressure Washer ... bloody hard work. I purchased the brand on reputation and build quality. There are cheaper, similar ones available, but my thinking was, spares are readily available when needed, and any add ons can be obtained, should I require them in the future. Back to the brickwork, without detergent, there was enough force behind the washer (100bar) to thoroughly clean off the green stuff and other gunge which had accumulated around the wall. It is saving my wife a small fortune by cleaning the windows herself now, sorry window cleaners for you losing our business. It makes these tasks so easy.
