Karcher K3.80MD
by mikecrabb
I bought this unit about a month ago and thanks to the awesome weather that we've been having, it has been getting used about 2 or 3 times each week since. Thanks to this I now have a much cleaner garden thanks to the various different attachments that you get with it. In this review I'll speak about the main unit itself, and then about ... the various different attachments and my experience with using each of them.
--MAIN UNIT--
The main unit is fairly well built, although does need some assembly out of the box. The wheels are really easy to fit, the only thing that isn't mentioned is that you need to screw in the black handle attached to the top of the unit. The inlet water hose connects with a standard hose intake and the high pressure hose clicks in and is then screwed in for additional security.
The main handle on the unit is really well built and feels really secure in your hand, also you dont get a really 'shaky hand' after using the unit for a while, which is always a good thing!
--T-RACER--
The t-racer is the fancy circle looking attachment that can be used to clear patios/decking etc. This is probably my most used accessory, it is really good as taking off dirt as the two jets underneath it move in a circular motion cleaning a large surface area. This unit is really easy to use and it just feels like you are vacuming - you just move it back and forwards until all the dirt is removed.
--VARIO-POWER SPRAY LANCE--
This accessory has an adjustable spray so can go from a small drizzle up to a fairly intense blast - this means that it can be used for things other than just cleaning patios, one of my friends uses something like this to clean horses (not on full power of course!). The main use that I've had for this attachment is to act as a jet to blow dirt/water off of driveways/patios as it creates a 2 foot 'line' of water that can easily be used as what can be best described as a 'water sweeping brush'
--DIRT BLASTER--
The dirt blaster is the accessory that really shows how powerful the pressure washer is, it looks like a futuristic ray gun and is probably just as crazy! I used this for cleaning patio stairs and coloured stones in the garden, all of which went back to their original colour, this one is also good for going over a patio that you have used with the t-racer to try and get rid of any really dried in dirt that doesn't want to move.
--WASHING BRUSH--
This is probably the least used accessory in the pack, although it does have its uses. This one is really good for washing cars, pots, anything small that you just want to get in and scrub (although this does get you very wet!)
--SUMMARY
Overall, I was a bit apprehensive at first, spending £100 on a pressure washer - but it has defiantly been worth every penny. It has been so easy to use and makes such a difference to anything that you want to clean and does it with little or no effort. Its defiantly worth buying one, and even if its not this one - make sure that it has a t-racer attachment for patios, because this is what has defiantly made me happy with buying it. Karcher K 4.99 M Plus
by babyboomer
I bought this pressure washer around 6 months ago when my previous Karcher pressure washer was stolen from our garage. We had it sent from abroad as thats where it was cheapest but we have had no problems so far and have not had to use the warrenty.
We dont do a massive amount with it other than cleaning the car and 2 or 3 ... times a year we will clean the drive or patio but saying that it has done the job so far. As a light user of pressure washers I would say this is a good choice. For medium to high users I might suggest a more robust and expensive Karcher washer (I would still recommend the brand though.)
Features of this product include a 6m hose (enough for an average sized house with garden/patio etc.), 1900w power (adequet for us), 400 litres per hour flow and max temp of 40 degrees (40 degrees takes most debris off but for stubbon areas I boil the kettle and add cleaner, pour it on before jet washing. The attatchments may be useful for others but I tend to stick to the main one - it does the job just fine.
This product is light enough for me (a small woman) to lift in and out of the garage. It also has wheels so it can be pulled along the patio. I do find these wheels a little cheap and noisy but they do the job.
Karcher has a good reputation for pressure washers and they have a range of different types for all situations. I would recommend this product if you are a light to medium user like myself. Buy something more substantial if you will be using it a lot or for a large area. Expect to pay around £150. Read the complete review |

Karcher K2.29 Pressure Washer
by sezkamcc
We move house quite regularly and always find that the paths/patio/driveways are filthy. So after getting fed up of looking at the eyesores I finally convinced my husband to purchase a pressure washer andthis review is about the one we purchased - A Karcher 2.1.
I won't go into the technical stuff as I really don't understand it ... and won't pretend I do. All I an tell you about is its ability to clean.
This pressure washed comes with three attachments, a low pressure detergent gun, a dirt blaster lance (love that name) and another variable lance. Oh and a detergent tank which is removable at your pleasure.
It is bright yellow in colour, like every other Karcher product I have come across and feels very robust and well made. The attachment all have their own little slot to go into with the detergent tank attaching to the back of the product.
You then connect your hosepipe to the machine and attach whichever attachment you fancy to the trigger handle. This is done via a simple push and click system. Great for the technically challenged like me.
It is easy to move around as well, which is great for me as I am not the strongest of people. However, the 6 metre hose also makes this easy as you do not need to move it constantly. I can do our entire patio with only one life of the actual unit.
And boy does it clean. My husband was actually pretty shocked when he came home after I had first used it, we didn't realise that our patio and path were actually meant to be the same colour as each other before. It removed every little stain from the stones and really made it look new again.
I also like that as soon as I release the trigger the water stops, meaning that if one of the kids is screaming I only have to let go to find out what the problem is, rather than having to flick a million switches.
The three attachments are great, with us mainly using the 2 lances. The high pressure dirt blaster lance makes short work of any job and the variable lance is ideal for using around the edge of our patio/path where the grass meets the stones.
We have yet to really use the detergent gun as we have found that the actual pressure from the water has been enough to deal with anything we have come across as yet.
We have been told that it is safe to use on our car as well, however, my husband is not willing to try it just yet, as his car really is his pride an joy.
We paid approximately £40 for this from a large known DIY retailer and this appears to be the average price at the moment.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to rid their garden of all the dirt build up on thier patio/path/driveway. Read the complete review |
