Useless, I returned an Aquatak 1350 just inside the warranty period last spring. I used the replacement washer today for the very first time and the handle is gushing water out the side of the handle. There is obviously a fault with the handle which appears to be made of two sections (which are not designed to be separated by users) and the leak is at the joint between these sections. What's my chance of getting this replaced free of charge by Bosch?
I purchased a Bosch Aquatak 1500SI and the lance failed after a short time due to poor design. That time Bosch replaced it FOC. Since then its failed again due to rusting through of the steel pipe inside the lance. Why not use stainless steel Bosch? The wheels have also fallen off and the handle has snapped as the unit falls over so easy. Bosch are not so keen to replace the parts now.Basically if you want to throw your money away go and buy a Bosch Aquatak 1500SI! I now need to spend over £80 to get what was a £280 unit back to working order. I will probably cut my losses and buy a Karcher.
Bosche Aquatak 1500si. Good power BUT......the lance/handle leaks like Niagra, and you have to spend at least £58 to get a new one that leaks too...!! It's a problem that Bosch appear to have failed to address based on other reviews on other sites. It's not too stable either and will also fall over with the lightest of strain on the hose, whilst your feet are getting wet ! Not impressed at all. Jim from Suffolk U.K.
My Bosch Aquatak performs excellently WHEN IT WORKS . It was bought solely to clean stone flags once a year. The first year it worked well, although it is very heavy. Second year; massive leaks from lance but that was replaced as it was a product fault. This year severe leak appeared at junction of hose and machine. This shorted machine. Price quoted for replacement hose is £113 inc VAT so I am now in the market for a cheaper and more reliable make
I purchased this equipment two years ago for a 5 star hotel in Islamabad (Member of the leading Hotel of the world) and we find it really great by using on different surfaces for the cleaning but we were quit worried and uncomfortable after the sale service. This product should be introduced in the Hotels by holding seminars; I can see big potential for the penetration of this equipment in the market of Pakistan business communities.
I purchased the Aquatak 1500si in 2003. The performance of the machine is excellent for a domestic product, it blast away dirt with ease and is far superior to the cheaper machine previously owned. I use it very rarely, only ever used to clean my garden slabs so you can guess it's not used much. Every single year since I purchased it, it has leaked at the lance, which is always a problem. If the lance issue was resolved I would suggest it as a domestic best buy.
I purchased this model from Homebase about 18 months ago and paid around £279. It is very easy to use and performs well. However, you can imagine that one doesn't use it very often, I would guess on average once every two months. I went to clean my car this morning and was dismayed when water started gushing out of the handle as well as from the jet nozzle. The washer is out of guarantee and I have no idea if it can be repaired. I went for a Bosch because I thought the internal fittings would be of better quality. In retrospect I wish I had now gone for a cheap model even if it meant having to replace it every few years, it would have worked out cheaper in the long run. :( UPDATE 8/9/05 Oh lucky me managed to find my receipt and discovered from the Bosch website that these washers are guaranteed for two years. Rang Bosch and told them the problem I had. They picked up the washer two days later. I had to pack it up which was a problem as I no longer had the original box. Put a photocopy of the receipt along with a ref number they gave me. About 10 days later a brand new washer arrived!!!!! Top marks Bosch for customer service but still not very happy that the original one had only lasted 18 months. Let's hope this one goes on for a bit longer.
