Advantages: Performs well
Disadvantages: Expensive compared to others
I purchased this model from Homebase about 18 months ago and paid around £279. It is very easy to use and performs well. However, you can imagine that one doesn't use it very often, I would guess on average once every two months.
I went to clean my car this morning and was dismayed when water started gushing out of the handle as well as from the jet nozzle. The washer is out of guarantee and I have no idea if it can be repaired. I went for a Bosch because I thought the internal fittings would be of better quality. In retrospect I wish I had now gone for a cheap model even if it meant having to replace it every few years, it would have worked out cheaper in the long run. :(
UPDATE 8/9/05
Oh lucky me managed to find my receipt and discovered from the Bosch website that these washers are guaranteed for two years. Rang Bosch and told them the problem I had. They picked up the washer two days later. I had to pack it up which was a problem as I no longer had the original box. Put a photocopy of the receipt along with a ref number they gave me. About 10 days later a brand new washer arrived!!!!! Top marks Bosch for customer service but still not very happy that the original one had only lasted 18 months. Let's hope this one goes on for a bit longer.
Summary: A short update.

- 29/06/05 Thanks for the warning - having been looking at buying one for some time.
Think I may look at the cheaper ones - as you rightly say - how often will I use it?
