Hozelock Compact 100
Advantages: Cheap, Easy to Store & Works Well.
Disadvantages: No Pressure Gauge.
After browsing the aisles at B & Q rather aimlessly, to be honest I was far more interested in the mix your desired shade of paint contraption; I ended up purchasing a Hozelock Compact Pressure Washer 100 7900. My reasoning behind this wasn't terribly well researched to be honest, it seemed light enough for me to manoeuvreand it was significantly cheaper than many of the other pressure washers on offer. It was advertised as being compact and lightweight as well as being easy to move and store thanks to its unique towing and onboardstorage system (none of which made the slightest ounce of sense to me at my time of purchase). Plus I had a 20% off voucher too!
The pressure washer itself is predominately yellow in colour with several sections of grey. It's made mainly of plastic but also has some metal bits and is classed as being small in terms of its size. Despite it being largely made of plastic it seems extremely robust and has withstood being stored in my shed and having lots of other things piled on top of it well over the past few months... it seems quite hard to damage really! It's an electric pressure washer so it does require a source of power and it is approximately 15kg in terms of its weight. The water flow is recorded as being 300 and the maximum pressure rating is 100...these figures sadly don't mean much to me. It's also got a 1200W motor inside as well... I sound really quite knowledgeable here despite it not meaning much!
The pressure washer comes semi built when you open the box and then the remaining parts were quite easy to fit together I found, due to its compact design all the separate parts actually attach to the main body meaning it's really easy to store. In addition to the main body of the pressure washer it also comes with three different nozzles for the jet wash as well as a cable, a hose, a water supply connector too and a cleaning pin. The hose boasts itself as being 3m in length and also being a high pressure reinforced hose as well while the cable is longer at 5m.
The instructions that come with it are quite basic but very accessible, especially for someone like me who has never used a pressure washer before. The first time I used it after assembling it I think it probably took me about five minutes to get to grips with using it which is quite an achievement for me! I even had water coming out of it within about ten minutes which really is saying something for me... especially when I managed to remain dry! It easily demolished two years worth of weathering on my patio in a matter of minutes, despite my tiles looking dark grey and black with moss all over them I actually discovered they're more of a creamy grey colour! I then attacked the stone wall in my back garden and discovered some lovely clean bricks! I've since used it to clean my car, my boyfriend's car (well I made him do the car cleaning) and also the path outside the front of my house as well. Despite my initial reluctance when it came to buying it I've found that it's proven to be quite powerful despite its compactness and small size. It's also extremely easy to store and doesn't take up more room than my hoover!
The only downside is that the hose from the pump to the nozzle isn't overly long so I do find that I have to keep moving the pump as I move around my garden area. My dad also commented that it doesn't have a pressure gauge so you can't adjust the pressure manually but this has never really caused me any concern or sleepless nights... it'd just be one more thing for me to break! However apart from that there's nothing negative at all!
It's currently priced at £39.00 on the B & Q website or £65.99 on Amazon which is almost double the price! It also comes with a one year warranty courtesy of Hozelock. I'd certainly recommend this pressure washer as an affordable, compact and efficient option. There are plenty more variations by Hozelock and other manufacturers out there but I really didn't see the point of spending any more when this one did the job just perfectly!
Thanks for reading.
Summary: A basic pressure washer from Hozelock.
