Advantages: easy to use, pressure is sufficient for basic garden/path tasks
Disadvantages: none for me
I Live in Glasgow which means it rains all the time; my front garden faces west which all in all means that moss loves my front path!
The problem with this moss is that it can get really quite thick, add in the continual rain & you have a very slidey path.
I have tried to get in about the moss with a heavy duty brush but it really doesn't work. For this reason alone i bought the Karcher pressure washer. This brand has a good reputation & that really is why I bought it over the other options.
To use this washer is really simple, it is as easy as connecting to a power source, connecting the hose and switching on the power. There is a nozzle on the actual washer hose which controls the pressure of the spray, tighten it up & you have a powerful jet of water, loosen it off & you have a line of still pretty powerful spray.
I had great fun when I first used this blasting the moss away; I admit I had the pressure up at top whack & this was too much as i was effectively creating squiggles in my path. The trick is to get the balance right for the task you are doing. I would also be careful of your eyes - it was very easy to dislodge small stones which would fly everywhere.
This machine comes out once a year where I spend a fun hour blasting moss & also using the lowest setting to quickly clean my windows & door. Although used infrequently it is invaluable.
Summary: an easy to use basic pressure washer
