The karcher pressure washer is fantastic.It runs off the mains and the plug has a safety cut off switch.The base looks like one of those pull along hoovers and you just attach your hosepipe to it.The pole lets out an enormously powerful jet of water and has a container attached so you add detergent if you wish, although there really is no need for this.

My husband used to repair cars in the driveway, so it was covered in oil and grease.A friend lent me his power washer to clean it.All in all it must have taken me about 2hrs to clean the driveway but it looked immaculate when I`d finished.

The problem with a machine like this is, because it is so good it is really addictive.Once I had done the driveway I then just had to do the car, and the garden path, and the walls of the house, and so on...

You also get very wet as the water bounces off everything and back on to you, so it is advisable to wear a raincoat and wellies when using one of these.
