Advantages: makes difficult time consuming cleaning jobs muck quicker

Disadvantages: get very wet using the machine and need to wear protective footwear.

Having spent most of today jet washing my drive I was reminded of how long that task took and how difficult it is to do without the Karcher high Pressure washer. We have had this machine for about 4 years now and although a lot of the time it just sits on a shelf in the garage it was definitely a good buy. The idea of scrubbing and washing down the slabs on the patio and the garden furniture which used to take several days does not appeal at all. It is so much quicker to use the jet wash.
No soap or chemicals are required as the high pressure water works perfectly to remove dirt and moss. As I keep fish this is a definite plus. When we clean out the pond there is no scrubbing to remove all the algae etc from the sides as the jet wash is much more efficient and quicker.
It is possible to hire this type of machine but having one of your own is a much better alternative if you have somewhere to store it. Once you have used it about 6 times the cost of the machine is easily covered. The machine can even be used to clean the car with although one would not use the concentrated spray setting or have it as close to the paint work as when cleaning a brick drive or slabbed patio.
