      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Not the most expensive pressure washer, but the Power Devil just isn't up to the job.

I bought one of these two or three years ago. I thought that it would be handy for cleaning or using around the garden. I only anticipated needing a pressure washer for occasional use, and the Power Devil was a lot smaller in size than some of the other ones I looked at, so I chose it because it would take up less space in my shed.

The first of time I used it, the little devil seemed to work okay, and I was impressed with how well it got the mud out from under my car's wheel arches, but I noticed a strange smell and when I checked the casing it felt rather warm. This was a little worrying, but I had never owned a pressure washer before so I thought that it may be normal for it to get hot.

I didn't use it again for several months, but the second time was the last time. I was tired of looking at discoloured patio slabs and decided to give them a good hosing down. This took a little longer than it took me for the wheel arches. The plastic casing got so hot that it was becoming soft and the motor sounded like it was straining. I was determined to finish the last few slabs, so tried to persevere with it, but the motor packed up entirely. The Power Devil was a big disappointment. It was the cheapest pressure washer I looked at, it's just a petty that, in this case, my supposed bargain buy turned out to be cheap and nasty.

I bought a Power Devil and used it during last summer, 2010. Used it again recently and suddenly the water was squirting from the side of the gun, about halfway along. Gun is now useless so I can't use the machine but, reading the other reviews (now - what a pity - I wouldn't have bought it) I realise that I've been 'sold a pup!

I bought this product about two years ago, it worked OK for about half an hour but then kept overheating, it was suggested that it was due to the low water pressure. I put it away and haven't used it until today at somewhere were the water pressure would take you off your feet. Same result, completely useless, just makes an intermittent reving noise.

Took the Power Devil pressure washer out for only the fourth time since it was bought. (used once a year for cleaning the patio slabs) and followed all the instructions to the letter. After 3 minutes use, it was evident the motor was overheating so I switched it off and unplugged it. I was alarmed to find that minutes later, flames were coming from the machine. The red plastic covering was melting and giving off fumes. Luckily my husband is a retired firefighter and he dealt appropriately with the situation. Have no more faith in Power Devil products--or in the complaints procedure after reading some of the other reviews.

I have bought a brand new Power Devil PDGPW 16TSS model have no receipt and cannot remember where or when it was bought tried to use it for the first time last summer switched on and the hose blew off the machine because it needed a jubillee clip fitted which I put on switched machine on again power only lasted one second and stopped.Would like to get it exchanged by the manufacturer there are no details of where I can go back to. I think it is a discontinued model maybe 3 or more years old but at least it should have worked from new.Any suggestions are Power Devil still going or will any one else repair or exchange. Not impressed at all with them and have read other bad reports on your site which has prompted this review letterTony Jacks

I purchase a power devil pressure washer. It has had very little use, maybe half a dozen short goes. Yesterday it lost pressure and the pump has failed. Consider it to be poor manufacture

I bought the 1600w power devil pressure washer in summer 2007, & used it 3 times with an OK result (not brilliant). I have just got it out today (Feb 2008), and the pump is not working, it will cost more than it is worth to replace, so I am not impressed with its reliability

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Saves you money, easy to use. really versatile little unit. You'll wonder how you managed without it

I bought my Power Devil power washer from Ebay at the end Autumn, last year. I paid thirty five pounds for it which is a fairly good price. They retail in shops for around fifty pounds. This little red machine is extremely powerful and effective for it's size. i was really impressed.

the whole thing comes in a box with instructions and I found it really easy to put together. The only problem I had was fixing the inlet pipe to the tap in my kitchen. My taps are square not a standard shape so I had problems finding a suitable connector to attach the hose. I found a universal hose fitting in Wilkinsons which solved the problem.

The unit delivers water at 100 bar pressure which is fairly stong for a machine of this size. The hose length is only two metres long which is insufficient and the electrical cable is five metres long and contained in a cord storage unit.

I found the short hose length a problem. Extensions to this didn't seem a very good idea and they tend to leak and I was concerned about water coming into contact with the casing of the machine.

The trigger mechanism has a lock which is supposed to be a safety feature but I did find my five year old nephew operating the machine! So much for the safety device. It is easy for all but very young tots to open!

It comes with a wand which makes it easier to spray where you want to and a refillable detergent bottle. This is brilliant for cleaning the car and getting into all those difficult spots.

So, what can this machine do? The answer to that is that it can clean almost any hard surface outside. I cleaned shd doors, garage door and even th brickwork round the side of my house. It is brilliant for washing flagstones and removing moss from paths and tiles. You can even clean gutters out if you use an extension hose. However, my favourite way of using it is to clean the windows and their frames, all in one go.

Cleaning up after the dog is really easy and I can even give the garden furniture a treat. I'm sure there must be many other uses for this machine too.

I have never had any trouble with my machine and I feel it is really good value. After all, a carwash costs me four pounds per time and I pay the window cleaner five pounds every two weeks. Over six months I will have saved 108 pounds by my wreckoning! Sounds like a real good deal to me!

Power Devil - 'PDG4024A Power Washer' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As the years have gone by , slowly but surely dirt , grime and algae have taken their toll on our paved area's . Patio cleaner and a wash and brush down have had limited success , so it was decided to invest in a power washer . Not that the paved area's were the only reason for said purchase , there's also the car ( fed up of paying astronomical amounts for poor performance car washes ) , and other area's that the washer will be put to good use . So why the Power Devil PDG4024/A ? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For starters Power Devil are simonimous with quality goods at an afordable price . This product was purchased from Index / Littlewoods Catalogue store at just £49.99 . Secondly was the competition out there . I could choose from the Karcher range of pressure washers , but these were at minimum double the cost , and offered little more than the Power Devil . Weight however on these is a problem , and only overcome with the use of wheeled washers on the upper price range units . I could also choose B & Q 's Performance Power Washer , which was priced the same , but this product did not offer the same extra's as the Power Devil . Again weight was also a problem when compared with the Power Devil . And just what do you get for your money ? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) A stylish red power washer , designed and built in Italy , c/w cord storage . 2) 100 bar pressure with a flow rate of 5 litres per minute . 3) A free detergent bottle 4) Adjustable spray pattern lance , c/w 2 meters of hose . Setting up ? ~~~~~~~~~ Upon opening the snazzy box , you find an instruction sheet , power washer , disassembled lance , trigger and hose assembly , detergent spray bottle , water inlet filter and connector . Read the instructions first and follow th
e diagrams and assembly is complete in less than two minutes . A real doddle . To start all you have to do is connect your garden hose to the power washer , turn on hose , then connect power washer to the mains , switch on , and your off.... Gripes : ~~~~~~ A measly 5 meters of electrical lead is supplied . For me anyway , the use of an extension lead is needed , which cuts down on the safety aspect ( water and electrics don't mix ) . 2 meters of hose is not a lot either , and additional meter would have been most welcome , as it would mean that working close to the power washer is illiminated. 3) The cord storage clips , won't hold the measly 5 meters of cable . As with all power washers , the detergent bottle can't be used with the lance . Using such simply sprays the detergent gently where required . Once you have finished with the detergent bottle you have to remove it and replace it with the lance , then it's on to cleaning. Vax can combine both on their carpet cleaners s why not have a similar system for power washers ? Thumbs up ! ~~~~~~~~~ Switching of lance / detergent bottle is easy . Water pressure is controlled via a twist of the nozzle , pretty much like common or garden hose attachments . You have a choice ranging from a jet just a few mm in width to a wide angle spray . It goes without saying that the finer the jet the more powerful the cleaning action is . Dependant on use , you choose you jet setting , eg. a wide angle is more suited to cleaning the car , while a thin jet is more for cleaning stubborn stains on a path . Performance is good , it easily removed paint on some paving , that had been there for what seems a lifetime , and had been impervious to other previous methods of cleaning . However the variance of water jet is limited . The trigger has a locking mechanism , that will fox most young children , should you happen
to leave the power washer for that odd moment ( not recommended ) . The power washer has built in thermal safety cut out , and is well protected against water penetration . The built in handle and wheels aid movement , although the unit has to remain in an upright position during use , but that said it is quite light as well . In Use . ~~~~~~ It did a fairly decent job of cleaning my paths . As I mentioned having to use an extension lead was not ideal , and the short lance hose makes it a little restricted , hence frequent positioning of unit is necessary . However I was extremely pleased with the result . It also made a good job of cleaning my car , and cut down washing time considerably . Well impressed overall. Sadly after just six months use , the washer started to make some serious noises ( admittedly I had been using for a solid half an hour ) . A week later and this turned fatal ( the compressor side decided to call it a day ) . Furthermore , one wheel had become loose , and eventually beame detached for ever ! When returning for a replacement , it seems that this model ( nor any other Power Devil Pressure washer ) , is no longer stocked by Littlewoods - an ominous sign perhaps ? . More annoyingly , I couldn't find my receipt , so I had to settle for shop vouchers to the value of the last selling price , a lowly £39.95. Noise level wise ( prior to the fault occuring ) , it has to be said that the unit was quite noisy in use . However given the type of job it entailed , and the low cost of the unit itself , the noise level was acceptable. Precautions when using . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wear safety goggles , as debris can be forced upwards due to the pressure of the spray . Wear old clothes - you will get wet ! Never deliberatly aim at the power washer itself - it may be water resistant , but is not totally water proof. Never aim at people / animals - at clos
e range this could seriously injure a person . With the latter in mind , keep children away - they recommend people be a minimum of 45 meters away when in use ( this is often impractical , I would say 10 feet away ) . If using an extension lead , also invest in a circuit breaker , just to be on the safe side. Never use in the rain ( why you would weant to is beyond me anyway ) . Use decent detergents , and make sure they are not corrosive . Never run the wsher 'dry' - it'll damage the machine. Once finshed using , discharge the pressure ( press trigger with unit switched off , and water disconeected ) . And finally .... ~~~~~~~~~~ Recommended for light use , eg. garden and car . Those requiring a more professional / powerful or ultra reliable unit would be better looking at the upper market Karcher range. Hope you enjoyed the op . Thanks for reading - Brian.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Having been after a pressure washer for some time now they have recently started to come down in price to a more affordable level. I bought the Power Devils washer as the price was very reasonable and I've found their tools to be very reliable. This machine is fairly small, has it's own carrying handle and is therefore easy to store away when not in use. The feature are pretty much the same as for most budget washers, theres a detergent bottle and variable spray. Having wheels it's easy to move around, they also help to lift it clear of the ground so it's less likely to get wet when the spray washes away. The water inlet has a handy little filter, no all machines have this. This will catch any dirt, grit etc that might have accumulated in your hosepipe, that would otherwise damage the motor. This makes cleaning the car and the patio just so much easier. These are left far cleaner than washing by hand.It will also easily clean those hard to reach areas such as underneath the car and in the wheel arches. A very usefull tool.

You've just got to have one of these. Green slime, moss or any other unsightly marks that manage to breed over the winter months on my patio no longer exist. With the Devil Pressure Washer cleaning the garden has become a breeze even entertaining my son which save us doing the work. Of course we supervise him, as this machine is quite powerful. This cold water high pressure washer even has a trolley and a detergent bottle along with a adjustable nozzle. It boasts a 1300 watt induction motor and 100 bar pump. 6 litres per minute. Simplicity it's self to use. This machine costs a lot less than some of the others on the market, but is just as effective. If you suffer with green slime (on your patio that is) I suggest you give this a try.
