Kelkoo, in theory, is a very good idea. It is a simple search engine which allows the user to find a product online. Basically what happens is the search engine then displays results, in a simular way to Google, showing all the websites that sells the product keyed in.

Next to each website listed it shows a picture of the product and how much the website is selling the item for. This website couldn't be easier to use, whats more there's no risk, you don't have to pay to use the facility.

One disadvantage I've found with using Kelkoo though is it won't display every single website that is selling the product. For example if I was looking for a Cd, I searched for Tiesto: In Search Of Sunrise 5. This is just a random such, although I am in to Tiesto. It displays 2 results, 1 for £10.79 from Cd Blah, one from play.com £11.99. However, if I then click compare prices again, it displays 2 more results. If it says this by the correct item you are looking for (it shows a picture so you should always know)always ensure you do this.The 2 other results show 1 result better still: £8.99 from HMV.com and £10.99 from 101cd.com.

This is actually a very good price. However I then checked Amazon which wasn't displayed, this was also selling for £8.99. In another case Amazon may have sold it slightly cheaper. I also used Froogle, yet Froogles lowest price was with Total Recall at £9.39. Looking at this example then I would say Kelkoo is the best search engine for comparing prices, but sometimes its wise to check some other websites that you know about or have used before that aren't displayed. This way you may get a cheaper deal still.

Kelkoo does not guarantee you the cheapest price on the web, but it is a very helpful website, and in most cases it will come close to finding the cheapest price. This is, afterall, what the website has been setup for!
