Advantages: Donation to Charity
Disadvantages: Left with a "what happened" feeling
I was really looking forward to reading this book which is a collection of short stories written by some of the most popular authors around at the moment. As it was edited by Fiona Walker amonst others I was expecting it to be quite something as I have read all of her own books previously and loved everyone. What a disappointment lay between the covers - I started the first story with vigor only to reach a very unsatifactory and uncompleted ending! I tried another - same story - I don't know if this is to do with it being a collection of short stories rather than one novel but the whole way through I never got the feeling the normally comes of reaching the end of a good story that "ah so that's what happened feeling". Instead I was just left with a "what the hell was that all about" feeling. On the whole I found this a thoughly disappointing read - the only good point that £1 for each book goes to charity so at least it wasn't all money wasted!
