Advantages: Lighthearted but also very relatable and emotional

Disadvantages: Often predictable but don't focus too much on that

I had thought when I started reading this book that the whole story would be quite more predictable and just told by Jo but there are also chapters narrated by Dan about his childhood which are often quite heartbreaking at times. Set in and around Manchester which made a refreshing change from London, this is a book about how Jo vows never to be taken in by a man again only to find herself falling for Dan, the balloon man.

Dan is a children's entertainer much to the delight of Jo's 2 year old - Alfie. What I really liked about this book is that the characters grow and develop during the story learning from their mistakes. It will make you laugh and cry as a good book should but it is also light enough to be relaxing reading.

Sure it can be predictable, but only in the sense that you WANT it to be predictable as you want a happy ending for all the characters.

Summary: A great read this summer!
