The Siege - Helen Dunmore:
... of lard or the unexpected luxury of a small jar of jam. As an aside from the main story we follow the struggles of Pavlov, the man charged with feeding the population of the city and the devastating decisions he has to make, weighing the city's resources against the mouths he has to feed. This for me was the strongest part of the book as the city becomes almost another character in the story, bringing the other char... Read the full review: The siege by historywitch |

I did not find that the book was enlighting, but I found that it was stimulating (gosh, I really cannot find the right words for this review LOL) because Rachel wrote the book at a time when her relationship with her husband was having problems. Having spoken and debated this book with 2 female friends, we realized that there is may be too much focus on achieving the orgasm with a partner, which in itself is not a bad thing, but some readers may find that they are not in a position ... Little Miss Chatterbox - Roger Hargreaves ... Chatterbox has a friendly appearance, she is sort of a bright pink square with a round top covered in yellow hair and as you all would imagine a big mouth. Little Miss Chatter box obviously doesn't stop talking ever, the book starts describing a bit about her, it for example says that she even talks in her sleep. One day she wants to get a job which will probably be hard for someone who talks as much as her...
