Why would you want to learn Polish? Maybe you live in Poland or perhaps you work in the still expanding Central and Eastern Europe business sector. Alternatively, you are a polyglot wishing to increase your tally of languages or maybe you are just a masochist, for this 'beautiful language' (as the Poles tell me) could have been invented by the Devil himself with its percussive and siblent sounds and impenetrable constructions. Having lived in France and Portugal, I always prided myself on at least making the effort to learn the language and found that it wasn't too difficult to get to a basic functional level for shopping and converstaion.
