3rd Degree - James Patterson

Perhaps someone can tell me what the deal is these days but often when I find the latest book by one of my favorite authors, and James Patterson is very definitely one of these, tucked away at the bottom of the cover underneath the authors name is the word “and” followed by another name. Whatever the reason for it, often it means that the quality of the story is not on a par to the earlier work that I have enjoyed.
