... should never have any special diet foods. The idea is that you eat five meals a day. It is a combination of breakfast, a light meal, a main meal and two snacks. It sounds almost to good to be true, doesn't it?! The calorie count for the main meals are between 200-400 calories, and the lighter meals and snacks are between 100-200 calories. There are a choice of meals so you don't need to get bored. There is also a vegetarian selection. The idea is that you should never get hungry or tired becau...more

I started off writing this opinion some months ago and somehow it turned into an opinion on my experience of anorexia! I suddenly realised I hadn't reviewed this book yet. It is so good that I really felt I must share it with you. For some considerable time I worked for Weight-Watchers, as a lecturer, a trainer and an advisor connected with Head Office. I feel this gives me some insight into different diets and how people cope with them. Sadly, my anorexia left with with a very dubious metabolism and even half starving was not having much effect. I had gained too much weight after a heart attack a few years ago and felt I was too young to be ...  Read the complete review

The book claiming to give you a flatter stomach in five days sounds too good to be true. However, this worked for me, my sister and my mother so I am pleased to say that "it does exactly what it says on the tin" so to speak. Monica Grenfell takes you on a course of healthy eating and exercise, not anything that will stress you out or fill you with dread, just simple exercises and great food! She says "daily exercise has always been your best beauty aid and a flawless skin and shiny hair depend on good eating habits". This is the principal she works with for her regime. Grenfell has taken away the stress of slimming, and put ...  Read the complete review

I had read one or two enthusiastic opinions about this book, 5 days to a Flatter Stomach by Monica Grenfell, and I thought – why not? I investigated the price on Amazon to find that it was £4.99 plus postage and packing of £1.75 and, since I had a £5 gift voucher to redeem, it actually cost me the princely sum of £1.74. That way I figured that if it wasn’t any good I hadn’t wasted much cash. As a bit of background information for you I am about 3 stone overweight and have been told by my doctor to loose weight or risk becoming diabetic. I was given an appointment with a dietician who told me nothing that I didn’t already know and ...  Read the complete review

This book is a guide to getting a flatter stomach using a combination of diet and exercise. I have found it sucessful on two occasions. My first attempt at the book left me with a much flatter stomach but I went on holiday and didn't start again when I came back. However I am persevering again and after losing 2lbs for the last 2 weeks and my husband losing 4 pounds last week it seem to be suceeding again (I am not sure how Mondays curry at my favourite restaurant, eating out yesterday and tonights take-away are going to effet this weeks results!!). Anyway the book starts off by explaining that people don't stick to diets because they get bored with ...  Read the complete review
