Bad Science - Ben Goldacre:
... Ms Larsbaby pointed me in the direction of this book which a friend of hers had read. The point of the book seemed to be to debunk myths around science and in particular the "pseudo-science" peddled by groups as diverse as nutritionists and journalists. Famous health stories would be examined in detail and taken apart where appropriate. My interest piqued, I had a look to see what all the fuss... Season of the Witch - Natasha Mostert ... Gabriel Blackstone is a remote viewer, one of few people with the exceptional ability to ride a person s memories and experiences, to enter a person s mind. Asked by an old flame to discover the whereabouts of her step-son, Robbie Whittington, Gabriel s remote viewing ability leads him to Monk House and its mysterious inhabitants, two beautiful and enigmatic sisters, Morrighan and Minnaloushe Monk. What connects these women to Robbie s disappearance? What secrets lurk behind Monk House? Pablo's War - Pablo Mason ... isn t my kind of book at all, but when my husband wrote a review on it for me to put on here, I thought I would give it quick going over so I could write the review properly. The book is certainly not the kind of book I would normally pick up and read, as you will know if you have read many of my other reviews of my chick lit books, and this book is much more for the male audience who enjoy reading about war and fighter jets. On saying that though the emotion is the book is heart warming, and the book can get quite sad at times! Plot: Pablo Mason is a Squadron Leader at the time of the first Gulf War from August 1990 to February 1991, when the world went to war wit... Read the full review: Pablo's war! by stephbond89 |

Taste the Bright Lights - Laura Canning ... come from the same area as the author of this book, Craigavon in Northern Ireland, UK. After reading the first three pages of this novel, I was hooked; the novel tells the unfortunate trails and tribulations of a 14 year old girl (Lisa) from a rundown part of Northern Ireland. Unlike many other novels which feature a teenager as a protagonist, this book does not deal with the normal issues faced by youth such as what lipstick to wear or w...
