Advantages: Nice progression, nice tunes

This is a great flute book if you are either a beginner, taking exams between grades 1-5 or just enjoy playing pretty songs.
Some are taken from harder scores such as Telemann, but they all sound pretty and the easiest sections have been chosen in this book.

When I was recommended to buy this book at about the age of 14 I found I could sight read pretty much all of it straight away, this was the year that I did my grade 7 so I would say it is definately more suited to under grade 5 where it will be more of a challenge.

There are obviously 76 songs, the first ones are only a few lines long, but the last 2 are a page each. I would recommend it to teachers of the flute as its a nice way for the pupil to progress with each song, as each one gets a bit more difficult in terms of more notes and different key signatures.

There are also a lot of pieces in here that are on the syllabus for Associated Board so each teacher should really own a copy, and recommend to their pupils that they buy it too so they can really prepare properly.

It should cost around £7-10 depending on where you buy it, if your a student you can get a student discount when ordering from Allflutesplus on the phone.
