After a few duff books, I had pretty much had it with James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. The whole series appeared to be going nowhere: full of dull, artificial characters left with little to do muddled, un-engaging plots and superficial writing that ultimately failed to satisfy. As far as this reader was concerned, Patterson was drinking in the Last Chance Saloon. Boxer is portrayed as a tough cop with a soft heart. The Womens murder club is made up of her close friends, Claire Washburn the Medical Examiner , rookie lawyer Yuki Costellano and Cindy the journalist. She confides in her 'girlie friends' as they try to solve the cases. The first case our heroine Detective ... Read the complete review

7TH Heaven is the seventh instalment of James Patterson's Women's Murder Club. As regular readers know, the club consists of Sgt Lindsay Boxer, an officer with the San Francisco Police Department, District Attorney Yuki Castellano, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn and newspaper reporter Cindy Thomas. 7th Heaven follows two stories. The first is a high profile disappearance of the governor's son (Michael Campion), who was last seen entering a prostitute's house and the subsequent trial of Junie Moon (the prostitute) who the police believe to have murdered him. DA Yuki is the prosecuting attorney for the case, but she is also the subject of a book being written ... Read the complete review
