Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect and Communicate with Your Baby - Tracy Hogg:
... book was given as a gift to me during my baby shower (it did come in a big red box, marked "mummy s emergency box" and came along with a bar of chocolate, ear plugs and Nitol - so that should immediately give an idea of what the book is about). I didn t read the book until after my daughter was born and really wish I had taken the time to read it beforehand. The book is fabulous! The book offers hints... The Secret Life of a Slummy Mummy - Fiona Neill ... few weeks after my daughter was born I was doing the weekly shop in Sainsbury s when I noticed they had several books on sale. I had a quick look and almost immediately the cover of this book caught my eye. Being a new mummy, anything mummy related got my attention. I read the back of the book and thought to myself "this book may well make me feel better about the things I am not managing to do now I am a mum". Without any hesitation it was added to my trolley. The book is really easy to read and is one of those books you can pick up and put down at will - something which was very handy for me as with a newborn time to sit and read was something I could not p... Mercy - Jodi Picoult ... really enjoying the last 2 Jodi Picoult books I thought I was guaranteed a good read with Mercy. The book focuses on the life of Cameron and Allie MacDonald, Cameron is a police chief in the town of Wheelock and also the clan chief, which is a titled passed down through the generations and more of an honour than a real responsibility. Allie owns a flower shop and adores her husband to the point of making you feel sick at times. Jamie MacDonald a cousin of Cameron pulls up to the police station and admits to killing his wife, she is in his truck and this is where the real story begins. Why did Jamie kill his wife whom he loved so much? Why did he travel to Wheel... Read the full review: Picoult shows no mercy in this story by mum2boys82 |

Enough to Make a Cat Laugh - Deric Longden ... Enough to Make a Cat Laugh by Deric Longden is one of the funniest most uplifting books I have ever read. Its author has obviously shared his life with cats and has a perfect understanding of them. The book is set in the home Deric shares with his blind wife Aileen who can often be witnessed stroking a cardigan in the mistaken belief that it is one of the household cats. The four cats who also inhabit this home are Thermal, Frink, Tigger and the ageing Arthur; each has an individual personality which Deric illustrates with great insight. He has imaginary conversations with them all which are very convincing; he knows exactly what a cat would say if it could talk. He hi...
