A-Z of Cool Computer Games is a fairly substantial hardback, measuring 22 by 14.2 by 3.4 cm, written by Jack Railton (who some may know better as Jack Kibble-White), which I picked up from an Amazon Marketplace seller for about a quarter of its original £12.99 selling price. Of course, the simplest of books can also make you feel like you ve wasted your money - and Steven Appleby s The Secret Thoughts of Cats is lodged firmly between the two notions. Fitting into the novelty Christmas stocking-filler market, this particular book can be purchased for a paltry £1.99 - but is it worth it? Measuring only 10 x 7.5 centimetres, the tiny paperback is basically a guide to deciphering a cat s expression. Each page features an illustration of a cat s face, with the text underneath showing what the cat is thinking - but here s the crux... each of the illustrations are identical. ... Most are happy to just watch the butterflies flutter by without knowing what species they are or whether they re common or rare. Understanding Exposure - Bryan Peterson ... wet summer afternoon I decided I d had enough of my point and shoot camera and I wanted to graduate to a grown up model , so off I toddled to the local camera shop. After parting with a fair amount of money I was the proud owner of a shiney new digital SLR. I got it home, all excited, then realised I faced a steep learning curve in order to use it as more than just a glorified point and shoot. Looking on the internet for advice I saw this book recommended time and time again, so bit the bullet and ordered a copy from Amazon.
