PHP Books in general:
... PHP is a programming language specifically designed with building dynamic websites and web based applications in mind, it is also open source, which means it is free. This being the case makes it probably the simplest language for website development and for the small business or individuals is probably the best solution. The other major languages/technologies that compare and compete with PHP are ASP (Microsoft) &... Read the full review: Sams Teach Yourself PHP in 24 Hours (2nd Ed) - Matt Zandstra by DarkGlobe |

JAVA Books in general ... usually one of those students who buys a course book and then uses it to prop up a wonky table leg or as a convenient resting place for a coffee mug for the rest of the year but not this one. Robert Lafore's introduction to basic data structures and common programming algorithms is a text I found to be absolutely invaluable in developing a decent appreciation of a subject which is a stock second year course for anyone undertaking a degree in computer science, or of course, anyone interested in seriously learning how to improve their programming power. It is one of the few books out there I've found which actually tackles the subject in a chatty, friend... Learning Perl - Randal L. Schwartz ... you already have some programming knowledge then there are a hundred reasons why you should now look at Perl and no reasons not to. If you’re looking to learn Perl as your first language, then it’s a less clear cut decision. As programming languages go, and I have used many, Perl is possibly my favourite. It’s also very easy to learn (particularly with some previous programming experience) and you can put Perl to work extremely quickly. The problem a beginner may have learning Perl as a first language is that, due to the nature and purpose of Perl, it’s very much a ‘behind the scenes’ or ‘under the hood’ largely invis... 101 Things to Do on The Internet - Mark Wallace ... your mind back if you will to those past distant days when computing was just a mystery to you, when a mouse was just a little grey animal, a keyboard was a musical instrument and a monitor was someone who collected the chalk and blackboard rubbers at the end of class. Take a walk with me down memory lane and remember the excitement of discovering that there was such a thing as a world wide web which meant people could communicate with others across the world, share information and discover new ideas and even play on-line bingo and buy caviar on-line from Harrods (in my dreams!). Ah, those were the days, the tension that was felt unpacking that strange box that was... Read the full review: Time to go surfing! by nursingstudent |
