Schott's Almanac - Ben Schott:
... the author of the international bestseller; Schott’s Original Miscellany, Ben Schott gives the perfect dose for those still addicted to the term ‘useless information’!! Schott’s Almanac 2006 – giving details on everything that’s everything that happened during 2005, so slightly out of date now – is the ultimate necessity for those in need of knowing stuff that, well, doesn’t really need to be known. Broken dow... Read the full review: Schott's Almanac 2006 by carlmcq |

Co-ordination Group Publications ... can often be boring, dull and tedious. Having to sort through endless notes and boring revision guides just adds to the problem. Let s face it, revision is boring. Right? Well I agree to a certain extent but CGP guides make revision a little easier and less dull. ~ So, what are CGP guides? ~ CGP stands for Coordination Group Publications. They are a company which produce revision guides from KS1 (aged 5-7) to A-level (aged 16-18.) They also have a range of practice papers for Scottish and Adult education. They also have Welsh revision guides. I first started using CGP books when I was in year 9. At this time we only used them in Science (although they are avai... Writers and Artists Yearbook ... you are serious about writing or producing artwork/photography to earn money then this book, Writers and Artists Yearbok, is a must for your reference shelf. Published by A C Black annually, this is usually in the shops late summer/early autumn and is a mine of useful information. The 2007 copy has RRP of 14.99 but look out for special offers as some bookshops offer reductions. It is a thick book, with a red cover, not to be confused with a similar book with a yellow cover. There are over 800 pages in this year s edition. I don t think it is necessary to buy a new copy every year, if you buy every couple of years it should be enough to keep you informed. You can a... Collins-Robert French Dictionary ... aimed mainly at advanced learners or professional users such as translators, I would recommend this dictionary to any serious learner of the French language, partly because of the informative central section, but also because it will show you the correct word to use where there are several possibilities. Brits who emigrate to France or have second homes there will find a wealth of material to make life easier if they are not already fluent in the language. The introduction explains how to use the dictionary and recognise synonyms, parts of speech, letters for different meanings, asterisks indicating informal language, etc. Some entries have a box underneath th...
