Say Goodnight to the Sleepy Animals! - Ian Whybrow:
... Book The front of the book is brightly coloured and has the title of the book. It has a cat and her kittens, a dog, rabbit and an owl on the front with a night time scene in the background. All the animals are made of what I think is felt and are soft to the touch. On the back is a line from the book and some more animals, not made of the touch and feel material in another night time scene. My Opinion I was g... Sleepovers - Jacqueline Wilson ... a child I used to read non stop, and really liked Jacqueline Wilson s books and could get through at least one a day as I ve always been a fast reader! This book is lovely for girls about age 7 upwards depending on how good they are at reading, I think 7 was when I read this book although I cant be too sure. The plot is really nice, good for young girls as it revolves around friendship and sleepovers as the title of the book suggests. I remember really liking it, and it made me really want to be like this group of girls and have a club and sleepovers just like theirs! Daisy moves to a new school and makes friends with four girls, Amy, Bella, Chloe and Emily who make ... Read the full review: Sleepovers by elizabethcullen |

Secret Seahorse - Stella Blackstone ... is a book which came in one of my eldest daughter s Bookstart packs, I think she was about 18 months at the time. The book is a small board book with 22 pages of story, written by Stella Blackstone and illustrated by Clare Beaton. It is published by Barefoot books, information can be found at www.barefootbooks.com. The book is called Secret Seahorse and is about a little seahorse who is swimming through the ocean and the various creatures he meets on the way. The text is very simple and is usually limited to just one line per double page spread. Every two lines rhyme with each other, for example the first line says: I saw a secret seahorse deep down in the s... Read the full review: Can You Find The Seahorse? by arleek |

Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson ... - Stevenson s Treasure Island is a classic work of fiction written for boys and set in the 19th century. It is perhaps fuelled by The Golden age of Piracy of the previous century and by tales told to Stevenson by his Father and Grandfather, both former lighthouse keepers. PLOT - It is essentially a coming of age story and follows the progression into adulthood by young Jim Hawkins. We are introduced to a quiet, vulnerable and easily intimidated young boy early on in the text, who becomes master of his own destiny when he comes across a map of Treasure Island in a pirate s chest. He embarks on an adventure of a lifetime in pursuit of treasure with the well re... Read the full review: Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum! by fragglerock2006 |
