Kiss Me Annabel - Eloisa James:
... this book * I picked this book up to read at my local library because I was in the mood for some romantic fiction really. It had been a dreadful week at work and I wanted something that would lift the sprits and provide a bit of amusement. About the author Eloisa James is the pen name of Mary Bly who is a Professor of English Literature at Fordham University in the USA. Her main academic focus is the work of... House of Angels - Freda Lightfoot ... hadn t heard of Freda Lightfoot before, but House of Angels is her thirtieth novel. No wonder it s almost perfect then. This novel combined everything I was looking for - great characters, an interesting storyline and well-written, with intelligent vocabulary and twists and turns to hold my interest. The novel focuses on the Angel family who live in the Lake District in the late 1900s. Josiah Angel is the head of the family and appears to be a respectable business man, bringing up his three daughters after the death of his wife. The family live in a beautiful house and - to outsiders - the daughters seem to have everything - comfort, money, beauty and an easy life... Somewhat reluctantly, Lydia realises that she has to return to England and face up to the past but what will await her when she does... Black Dagger Brotherhood: Dark Lover - J.R. Ward ... must be one of the few people who have not got into the Twilight saga yet! I must admit vampire novels and films are not my first choice of genre, but finding myself at work on a sleep-over shift with nothing to read, I had to have a mooch through the books we leave at work for each other to read when on sleep-overs. Having read most of the books lying around at work, my choice was limited, but I decided now was the time to give a vampire novel a try. It was either this or one of those misery lit books which I don t like to read, so it was a fairly easy choice. The author :- Dark Lover by J.R. Ward is the first novel in a series of six and was first published i... Read the full review: My introduction to vampire novels! by jeffjen |
