A Bad Spell for the Worst Witch - Jill Murphy

I was browsing through the charity shops this morning and found this book for 25p. As the 'Worst Witch' books were great favourites of mine, I thought I'd purchase this for my daughter as she might enjoy it too, and if not, I'd get to read it again . Now, the version I have is an older print of the book, so the cover is slightly different - still bright red, but with MIldred on her broom shown in silhouette, with her hat flying off and a bucket of water pouring down. This book was my absolute favourite for a while when I was younger. I loved the idea of magic and boarding school and this book was absolutely perfect. The story follows Mildred, Maud, Mrs Hardbroom and Ethel in another adventure at the magical school where they study witch craft. The school is unusual as it is a castle with no heating, there are only two terms and every student is expected to be able to ride a broom and is presented with a black cat when they join.
